This week has been a busy one. Loads of science activities – some worked and some didn’t!!!!! But they were all great fun. We worked on our money skills, make colourful cupcakes, practiced our signing and had a lovely morning in the café for Red Nose Day.

Science Week
The Stars class had a great time during science week. Some ‘experiments’ worked better than others however we couldn’t wait to try out the next one! We definitely had fun learning experiences!
MOVE Group
We love coming together each week as a MOVE group and being confident individuals whilst taking part in a variety of lessons. This week we tried some science experiments (that had already been tested and knew they would be successful).
We were also lucky this week to have a session with Kelly and Cooper for some dog therapy.
After this we returned to class and played some music along to ‘I Love My Life’.
We took part in all these activities whilst working on a lot of our MOVE skills and the main part was we had fun doing it.
World Book Week
The Stars class enjoyed various World Book Week activities. We created bunting, dressed up and had a parade, brought in our favourite books to share, had a book swap, treasure hunt, enjoyed an author visit and read books on video, e-book and at the Dick Institute. We all enjoyed the experiences very much. However, let’s not forget, we made pancakes on Shrove Tuesday too!
Fun with Flour
In Enterprise this morning we played with flour, finding the shapes, moving the balloons in the flour and letting the flour stick to them, drawing and making shapes in the flour – what messy fun!!!
The Tartan Witch
We had a lovely time listening to the story, learning new Scottish words, making potions and designing new tartan.
We had a lovely afternoon using the mixer and making pancakes, choosing our toppings and then making tea foe everyone.
Pizza Pals
Our cookery class this week was a wee bit different with our boys in Transition inviting the Beech class along to enjoy some Pizza with us. All the boys were Confident Individuals when taking the orders of the boys and girls from Beech and creating the pizza they chose on the order form. Of course Beech returned the favour so our boys could enjoy a pizza of their own as well. Well done to both classes involved.
World Book Day
World Book Day this week! The Oak boys were all confident individuals when choosing their reading book and reading it to an adult. They completed a book review to share their opinion on their story.
Angus has been making great progress and coming to join his friends for quite a few activities this week. He loves to sing ‘Shotgun’ and ‘Flower of Scotland’.
We also were successful learners working on telling the time in analogue and digital format. The boys played a time game with a partner, ‘Roll and Tell the Time.’ The first person to complete a straight line had to shout ‘BINGO’.
Every class went to great efforts to dress up in their favourite character or come in their PJs for a bedtime story.
Our WINNERS for World Book Day!
This is the first time the whole Oak class have all sat together around the snack table! It has been a great week in the Oak class!
We read ‘The Lion Inside’ and then had fun creating a our Lion art work.
