FAOL MacMillan Coffee Morning Cupcakes

The Asteroids have had lots of fun as they baked their MacMillan cupcakes. They were very confident when gathering the ingredients using the recipe and they loved cracking the egg and stirring the mixture. The boys chose which colour of cupcake case they wanted and were able to sign or say some of the key ingredients and processes.

They then had great fun making three different colours of icing. They enjoyed squirting in the different food colouring and watching what happened to the white icing when they added the colouring. The boys chose which colours to ice their cupcakes from the MacMillan Cancer charity colours – white, green and purple. Most of them opted for using all three!

They all enjoyed eating their cupcakes for afternoon snack!

The boys also enjoyed making a large cupcake to stick on the classroom door and Percy Pig noses to wear when getting our photos taken as Percy Pig.

Butterfly Update

Our caterpillars have turned into a chrysalis and are now taking time to harden.  Once they are fully formed and hard, they will be ready to be transferred into their new habitat.  It was really exciting watching them wriggle around and change shape!

FAOL: WHOLE SCHOOL/CITIZENSHIP – MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

*Responsible Citizens* & *Effective Contributors*

As part of our class Enterprise, we grew & made our own snacks to enjoy at our MacMillan Coffee Morning. We started off by planting and growing water cress to make Egg Cress sandwiches. We then made our own Soda-bread and butter – which took a lot of shaking! We made the sandwiches fresh this morning with all of our ingredients.

Some pupils enjoyed the taste of the lemon we used for Soda bread!

We then enjoyed our sandwiches, some treats and tea/coffee this morning!

FAOL – Enterprise MacMillan Coffee Morning

Today was MacMillan snack morning at school.  We came dressed in purple and green and decorated cupcakes. We mixed green food colouring into the frosting and added it to the top of our cakes. We also used a rolling pin to roll out the green fondant icing and put it on top of a biscuit.

This week we also created pig masks and today we visited the atrium to stand on the muddy puddle with a Percy pig cut out.  We also decorated a giant cupcake to display on our door for everyone to see. We enjoyed sharing a snack together with our friends.

Daisies Class Morning Group!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Daisies class are very aware of our morning group routine. They enjoy taking turns and welcoming all of their friends to class with our “Good Morning” song and some greetings – high five, handshake, fist bump or a hug.

We choose how we are feeling in many different ways – using sensory bottles, using lego face visuals on the SMARTboard, using our Go Talk communication devices or by use of PECS.

We listen to days of the week songs and months of the year songs and practise writing the initial letter each day.

Finally, we enjoy a sensory weather song and choose what the weather is like each day on the SMARTboard.
