A huge thank you to the GFG and all the parent helpers who organised and carried out fantastic Halloween discos last night.
I like this ART work because it took a long time to do it. The best part was painting the ART work and doing it.
Thank You from the Rights Respecting Schools Group
The Rights Respecting Schools Group would like to thank everyone very, very much for their kind donations of food which were brought to school for our Harvest assembly on the 13th October. David from the East Ayrshire Foodbank came along to give a talk to the assembly about the work of the Foodbank and the number of struggling families they help every week. After taking all the foodstuffs away, he phoned back to say that we had collected over 200kgs of food which will help provide food for at least 26 people for 3 days. We are delighted to further our work towards our Rights Respecting Schools Level 1 status and also helping our local community. Thank you everyone!

ECO COMMITTEE
Today the Eco Committee decided to come up with a Gargieston Eco Code for our application in the form of an Acrostic Poem. Next time we get together we will create our Eco Code in the form of a large poster / display – look out for it in the coming weeks at the front of the school. We are also keen to get Eco Committee badges for our group and are currently investigating how best to obtain them. This was a productive meeting today!

A few people have commented on improvements for our communication board which included display of a weekly snack menu this is put up on a weekly basis in the cloakroom please find this menu on the board next to the ECC playroom door. Other feedback left was in regards to pictures of the children being displayed this will be taken on board and I look forward to adding some pictures of the children in the near future maybe interlinking to our top tip of the month. Thank you very much for your support. Miss Clark.
Communication board top tip – Add a word!
This months top tip is focusing on extending current language development by being a role model when communicating with your child. This promotes an extension of sentence structure. Please have a look at our communication board within the ECC cloakroom this is updated on a weekly basis. (Wed)

Halloween Disco – 25th October
Our GFG have organised the Halloween disco and requested that parents do not wait in the hall. As stated on the GFG Facebook page parents are welcome to wait in our parent room. We will also demonstrate how to post on your child’s e-portfolio in the ICT suite. After the successful workshops at parents’ night we hope all parents will regularly check their child’s progress and give feedback.
