P4A Easter Assembly

A huge well done to all the boys and girls in Primary 4A for putting on a super Easter Assembly on Friday.  You researched and wrote the whole thing yourselves and you put on an excellent performance.

Parents’ Night Survey

Communicating with and receiving feedback from parents is very important to us at Gargieston Pr and ECC.  For this reason, after you have had your appointment with your child’s teacher tomorrow, we would very much appreciate if you would kindly drop in to the computer suite. It would be helpful to us if you would take part in a very short online survey which will allow us to gather your opinions on the way Gargieston Primary communicates to parents about our pupils’  progress, attainment and achievement. Thank you very much for your help .                    Mrs. McLaughland

P7 Parents’ Night

As we have done for the past few years, the Primary 7 children are welcome, where possible, to come in with their parent(s) to their final Gargieston parents’ night – their ‘exit interview’. We shall look forward to seeing everyone at this special time.

Many P7 children who are available, are also helping around the school with surveys, assisting staff etc. Could parents please pop a note in diaries or leave a comment on this post (click on the heading) to confirm they are happy for their child to be given a slot around the time of their own appointment? Many thanks.

Mrs Lawson

P4B – Global Citizenship Assembly

P4B worked extremely hard when planning and carrying out their ‘Global Citizenship’ Assembly. They were sharing their learning on many important things such as:

  • The United Nation’s 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development

  • Water pollution linked to Global Goal 14 – Life Below Water

  • UNCRC Article 24 – Everyone has the right to clean water

They did really well when delivering the message that if everyone does just a little bit, we can change the world to a better place for all.

Help with a piano please…

We are in the very fortunate position of being offered a good piano – unfortunately we have no way of uplifting it.  We would be so grateful if anyone could help us out with this. We also need to have it organised before we stop for Easter…

If you can help us then please click on the title here and leave a comment or contact the school and speak to Mrs Lawson.

Fingers crossed somebody can help!

Orienteering is BACK!

Gargieston Primary has traditionally taken part in the Ayrshire and Scottish orienteering festivals over a number of years and have competed to a high level.  This of course was down to the dedication and enthusiasm of Ms Harvey.  Mr Smith and myself (Mrs Mackie) would love to keep this tradition alive and are hoping to get as many children to attend these events as possible.    Every year there are evening training events run by AYROC, giving the children experience of an orienteering course.  Here is the information:

Ayrshire Schools Orienteering Training Evenings.

We ask that children in Primary 4, 5, 6 and 7, if they haven’t tried it before attend at least 3 out of the 4 events.  If they have competed before attend at least 2 of the events please.

Help keep this tradition alive!

K-nex Challenge

Sam and Joe from Primary 6 represented the school at the K-nex quarter finals yesterday.  They tried really hard and were a credit to the school. Well done boys.
