GIRLS FOOTBALL

Here are the P5 and P6 girls who attend football training on a Monday with Bethany, our Ayrshire College student and girls football coach. They also represented us superbly at last week’s Grange Cluster Cup first event. They didn’t win the event but they had lots of fun and very proudly came back to school with the Fair Play Cup. This was awarded in recognition of their positive, enthusiastic attitude and sportsmanlike behaviour throughout the event. Well done, girls!!  We are so proud of you.

Unfortunately, we have no team strips for the girls who played last week in our school orienteering tops. We would be extremely grateful if there was a company or business with a family link to Gargieston which would be able to sponsor us and so help us to have new strips for all our future football events.   Our very successful boys team need new strips too. We would be so grateful for any help.

Anti-Bullying and Dyslexia Awareness Day

 WEAR SOMETHING BLUE DAY

To show support for Dyslexia Awareness Week and Anti-Bullying Week, we will be having a ‘wear something blue’ day on Friday 10th November. The whole school are invited to wear a blue accessory such as a wig, hat, socks, ribbons along with their normal school uniform.

This will be the focus of the assembly and pupils will be invited to complete a survey about anti-bullying. Also, pupils will learn more about dyslexia and anti-bullying in class.

Please note…

Due to unforeseen circumstances there will be no dance sessions on a Tue within the ECC. Staff will be facilitating different activity sessions for your child within the gym hall instead.

Star of the Week

★ Well done to all of last weeks winners for being kind friends! ★

Yoga with Miss Bechelli

This week we learned 9 new yoga poses! Have a go at home with your child it’s so much fun! 🙂

Yoga is beneficial for children in a number of ways:

It helps improve concentration.

It helps with Balance and coordination.

It enhances flexibility as we practise using our muscles in different ways.

It’s helps calm our minds.

and most importantly, it’s a fun way to exercise!

P7 Swimming

Every Tuesday Mrs Lawson’s class go to  The Galleon to get  swimming lessons . We go to either improve our swimming or, for the people who are unsure, learn to swim and feel more comfortable in the water. We all really enjoy going for swimming lessons because it is fun and a good experience for us as young people because swimming is a life skill and is a very crucial skill to learn . Our swimming teachers are Ron , Maureen and Anne. They are very nice and help us enjoy swimming even more! We cant wait for the next few weeks at The Galleon .
