Harvest

We had a lovely full school Harvey assembly this morning.

It was lovely to hear our P5-7 Choir for the first time this session as well as learn new facts about Harvest Time.

We also welcomed Rev McNaughtan to the school for the event.

Thank you to our P6 and P7 pupils who led today’s assembly.

Gargieston’s Scottish Celebration

All of our classes have been enjoying learning about Scotland throughout January.

All classes had the pleasure of taking part in a full school virtual celebration of Scottish poetry and songs.

We hope you enjoy the fantastic contributions made by pupils from all across the school.

The choir on Christmas Eve

It was lovely to see our choir entertaining the Christmas shoppers at The Cross on Christmas Eve. Along with a pipe band and members of the Royal Legion, they brought festive spirit to the town centre. Thank you to all the singers and parents who came along and to Mr Hay for all the preparation leading up to the event.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Choir Performance with Kilmarnock Concert Brass

Our choir entertained a full house at the Howard Centre on Sunday evening as they joined Kilmarnock Concert Brass for their Christmas Concert.

The choir delighted the audience with 6 songs and then also joined the brass band singing ‘Away in a Manager’ and ‘Starry Night’.

They were absolutely amazing! Well done to everyone who came along.

Some of our choir members became percussionists for the finale and Emma became the conductor!

I hope you enjoy listening to the videos. We all came away feeling very festive.

Burns Supper

Thank you so much to all the Primary 7 pupils who came along to our Burns Supper on Thursday night. We had a wonderful mixture of poetry and music, with lots of mums, dads and grandparents there to watch. It was a great celebration of all things Scottish.

The evening was rounded off with the children being presented with Heritage Hero certificates from Archaeology Scotland. This was in recognition of their work in local history. Not just their Burns work, but their local study of Kilmarnock during World War II; their community links with Kilmarnock District History Group, and using the Kilmarnock Town Trail to photograph some of the architecture in and around the town.

Weel done, weans!

Grange Education Group Christmas Concert

Well done to all the upper school children who took part in the Grange Christmas Concert. Representing Gargieston was our Strings Group, children in the Kick Start band and Primary 7s in  the Transition Group choir. We were extremely proud of all of you and so impressed with all the talent on show!
