Gargieston’s Scottish Celebration

All of our classes have been enjoying learning about Scotland throughout January.

All classes had the pleasure of taking part in a full school virtual celebration of Scottish poetry and songs.

We hope you enjoy the fantastic contributions made by pupils from all across the school.

The choir on Christmas Eve

It was lovely to see our choir entertaining the Christmas shoppers at The Cross on Christmas Eve. Along with a pipe band and members of the Royal Legion, they brought festive spirit to the town centre. Thank you to all the singers and parents who came along and to Mr Hay for all the preparation leading up to the event.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Music Tuition Assembly

All of our current P5 pupils are so lucky to receive strings tuition every Friday from Jean Hendry, our visiting music specialist.  We also have children receiving music tuition from Mr. Paterson, Miss Craven, Ms Martin and Miss Tomlinson. At our Monday afternoon assembly next week, Monday 25th June from 2pm we  will be entertained by all of these pupils who receive music tuition. Parents of these pupils are very welcome to join us!!

Dancing at Howard House (ECC)

The afternoon boys and girls have been practising a dance with the residents at Howard house. Today it was filmed on camera, they all did super!

Coming to a screen near you! 😀

Grange Education Group Christmas Concert

Well done to all the upper school children who took part in the Grange Christmas Concert. Representing Gargieston was our Strings Group, children in the Kick Start band and Primary 7s in  the Transition Group choir. We were extremely proud of all of you and so impressed with all the talent on show!

P7 Grange Concert

Just a reminder that P7 children are expected at Grange for a whole Education Group musical extravaganza on Wednesday night (6pm for a 7pm start). Mr Ramsay, Head of Performing Arts, has been visiting Gargieston to teach the children the three songs.

Unfortunately we only have 7 children out of the 32 in the class who have returned the letter to say they are going. I appreciate some people may have other Christmas commitments that night but it would be great to see more attending. What a great way to meet up with their future classmates.

Many thanks, Mrs Lawson

P7 at Grange Concert

Just a reminder to all P7 children…

Last Monday Mr Ramsay, Principal Teacher of Performing Arts at Grange Academy, gave out letters to the P7 children about their participation in the Grange Education Group Christmas Concert. It is on the evening of Wednesday 20th December at Grange. All children have received a letter.

This is a great opportunity to sing in a large choir with their future classmates from Annanhill, Crosshouse, Hillhead and Shortlees in a Transition event.

Could the children please return their letters as soon as possible to give Grange our numbers attending? Many thanks.
