Primary 1 Update 1.5.19

Hello All,

We have had an exciting week in Primary 1 with 2 letters from our friendly dragon. He asked us to write about his favourite fairytale – Goldilocks and the Three Bears on Monday and today he sent us a special package – full of sweeties! We had to work out which fairytale the dragon wanted us to read – it was Hansel and Gretel! We made our own sweetie houses – do you like them?

This week in Maths, we have been continuing to work on telling the time – o’clock and half past on digital and analogue. If you would like to practise more at home, here is a game you might like to play:

In RME, we have been learning about how different religions welcome a new baby – this week we looked at Baptism.

In French, we have been learning colours and using our knowledge to sing ‘ A Rainbow’.

Please remember that the children are on holiday next Monday (6th May) and Tuesday (7th May).

Thank you for your continuing support,

Primary 1 Teachers.

Primary 1 Update 9.5.18

Hello Everyone,

We hope you all enjoyed the lovely long sunny weekend!

Just a short but as always busy week this week!

In Writing the children have been learning about the features of fairytale stories and for the past 2 weeks we have taken time to create stories with a beginning, middle and end, come up with good and bad characters and created ‘happily ever after’ endings.

Here is some of their super work:

In addition to the normal class PE specialist time, over the next couple of weeks, the children will also have the opportunity to have a taster session of Judo.

In Science, we are continuing with our work on electricity. The children have been learning about appliances which use mains or batteries to provide electricity.

Thank you for your continuing support,

Primary 1 Teachers
