  1. Hi there, it’s Claire here (co-chair of PSA). Just checking to make sure the Parent Council still intend to join us for a combined AGM on Thursday this week and a reminder to let Lesley know if you have any special requirements for the room. I’m afraid I don’t have any other contact details for you but I check the email address on here regularly if you could please contact me that way ongoing? Becky’s email address is rebecca_lane@hotmail.com, it would be ideal to copy her in on any comms also please.

    Many thanks
    Claire

  2. Hi there! I’m co-chair of the PSA and have been trying to contact Ken via the school regarding the upcoming Summer Fair. Can you please give me a shout so we can arrange a quick chat? Many thanks!
    Claire

  3. Hi Karen,
We understand this is a big issue and getting worse, the School Extension construction will perhaps make the situation even more difficult. So the PC is trying to launch an initiative to calm the issue asking for consideration and respect from parents when parking their cars.
Is it possible to share the street name for us to investigate, either here or in the PSA/PC Box in School Reception?

    Thanks again for the message.

  4. Pretty much on a daily basis when I get home at 3.15pm I have to sound my horn to get people to move out the way of my driveway to allow me to park my car. This is parents waiting to pick up school children. I am unsure if this is related to Carmondean Primary pupils or DCHS pupils either way access to my driveway is blocked on a daily basis.

  5. Parking Issues

The Parent Council understands that there are issues with parking in the school area during peak times and as such would like to try and help keep things under control.

So with that in mind, would Parents living near to the School that are unhappy with car parking at peak school times, leave a message (indicating the problem area) in the PSA/PC box in the school reception or by adding a reply to this post.

We will then see how best to address the issue before the next PC Meeting on 14th March.

Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

  6. Our P7 pupils have started the transition process to S1 and last week Parents were invited to Deans Community High School for an information evening and tour of the school departments.

The Parent Council is very interested to hear the views of Parents that attended and those that were unable to for whatever reason. The PC feel it would be very beneficial to have feedback both positive and negative and to share with both our School and also DCHS. This would hopefully be useful to help future pupils complete the transition process as smoothly as possible. But not forgetting Parents who have an important role to play in this significant change in their children’s education.

Please let us have your feedback by commenting on the Post.

    Thank you.

    Ken Merson – Parent Council
