Last week in P1b……..

P1b were very busy last week and enjoyed lots of different activities including a judo taster session!  There were some good judo moves and lots of perseverance to not allow their partner to win!

We also reinforced our days of the week in maths and are getting really good at this.  We made door hangers to help us track the day of the week at home!

A another busy week in P1a

This week, P1a have been busy learning how to work out word problems in maths. We have been thinking about the different words we could use for adding and subtracting.  We have also been working on ordering and reading the days of the week and we made some super calendars.

On Thursday, we had a go at Judo and we played lots of fun games!

We have also been learning about the life cycle of a frog!

Miss Rodford would like to say a massive well done to all the P1 children for taking part in a super assembly. Everyone was really impressed with how you all learnt your lines and sang really well!IMG_2109[1] IMG_2106[1] IMG_2108[1] IMG_2123[1] IMG_2121[1] IMG_2114[1] IMG_2115[1] IMG_2112[1] IMG_2119[1]

P4/5 Trip to Stirling Castle

Yesterday was our class trip to the most important castle in Scotland, Stirling Castle.
We met Sir William who took us on our War Wolf Tour. He took us to Queen Anne’s garden where we saw the boulders that were fired by King Edward’s army. He spoke to us about the castle defenses, which included murder holes, very thick oak doors, the portcullis and the archers. He also told us the story of the Scots (played by Chloe) vs. King Edward (played by Liam). We could not believe how many times the castle went from the Scots to King Edward and back. Sir William also showed us the siege weapons, some of which were the ‘holy water sprinkler’, axes, crossbows and longbows and a variety of siege engines. Sir William talked an awful lot about executing us, luckily we made it out alive!

On Wednesday we met our new teacher. We were all very excited to see which friends were in our class and visit our new classroom.

This week P2 have been extremely busy completing our CEM tests so we enjoyed reading outside on the grass as a reward.

We have been playing maths games on the laptops and we learnt how to log on to the laptops all by ourselves!

Well done to our star of the week Izaak!

Fun in the Sun!

Primary 1b have been working very hard over the past couple of weeks.  In maths, we have been practising counting in twos and are getting better at this.  Mrs Smail took us outside in small groups to practise jumping in twos along the number line.  She was very impressed with our counting!

On Wednesday this week we enjoyed our sports day.  The weather was very kind to us and we loved having all the parents there to watch us and cheer us on.

Now we are working hard on learning our lines for our assembly next week.  We look forward to presenting this to the nursery children who will be coming into P1 on Wednesday and also to our own parents on Friday.  We very much look forward to seeing you there!
