Right of the Month! Article 29

Our right this month is …

Article 29
Your education should help you use and develop your talents and abilities.
It should also help you learn to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect other people.

All children are good at different things e.g. dancing, writing, reading or football.  We need to have the chance to develop our own talents and abilities. Our families and teachers are also there to help us to achieve our goals!

All children have the right to develop something that they are good at!

Miss Rodford will be sending home a family learning challenge on Monday based on the ‘Right of the Month’. Have a chat with your family about the different abilities and talents that you all have. Talk about what you have to do to
develop your abilities. Fill in the sheet and bring it back to school. The class that brings back the most sheets will win a prize!!!

We are all amazing!

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear…

Today, the last day of school, had probably the most successful carol concert ever. The tickets were sold out, the hall was full and the brass band was playing while people were settling down.  The songs were all traditional carols that people sing yearly. The readers were very clear when they said their lines and we even got a couple of parents to sing along with us!  The brass band were playing things like Little Donkey and Rudolph.

Our buddies sent letters to Santa and today a special hand written reply from Father Christmas himself arrived!  We took the letters down to the classes and read them to our buddies. Our buddies were so happy to see us and were amazed when we read the replies to them. They liked that every letter was different in a lot of ways. Some people wanted strange things like real unicorns and motorbikes! They liked that every letter had exactly what they asked for and that every letter had different decorations and colours.

Hope you all have a very Very Christmas from primary 7!

In topic we have been learning about ‘The Inuit’ and the Inukshuk, the singular of inuksuit, means “in the likeness of a human” in the Inuit language. They are monuments made of unworked stones that are used by the Inuit for communication and survival. The traditional meaning of the inukshuk is “Someone was here” or “You are on the right path.”

In Art we designed our own Inuksuit.
