Main discussion points :
- We looked at our rights and thought about what rights lend themselves to How Good is OUR School (HGIOS). Discussed Article 12 in detail. All agree children have the right to an opinion.
- What is our Pupil Group?
– Looking to see why our school is good. All children have the right to an opinion and our pupil group is a safe space to discuss and make a change. It focuses on the whole school. - We looked at the How Good is OUR School booklet which shows quality indicators for us to evaluate as a group.
- We looked at the main themes of HGIOURS:
-Relationships, Learning & Teaching, School Building (What could we put in to make it even better), Health & Wellbeing, Successes and Achievements.
The group voted to focus on the Health & Wellbeing theme first this term. Decided it was important for everyone in the school to have a healthy body and mind.
Focus Article:
Article 12: Respect for children’s’ views. Children have the right to give their opinions freely on issues that affect them. |
Action Points:
- For the next meeting – Think about how we can ensure everyone is happy and safe coming to school.
- Plan in place to develop everyone’s well being
- PMcD & MS – Exercise, Health & Wellbeing Challenge to get the whole school active.
- EB – Challenge, How many healthy snacks do each class have. Prize for the most.
