Room 10

Welcome to Room 10

Room 10 are keen active learners.  We are all very excited to learn and gain new experiences as the year goes on.

The Adults in our class are Mr Hyndman (class teacher), Mrs Roseweir (support), Mrs Clellend (support) and Ms. George.  Ms. Nisbett (ccc teacher) will now be in class on a Wednesday morning.

Here is some important information about our class:

    • Gym days;  Tuesday & Thursday (Indoor) and Monday & Wednesday (Outdoors)
    • Outdoor Learning; (UPDATE JANUARY-APRIL): Room 10 will take part in Forest School Sessions on Tuesday mornings – children can come ready for forest schools with warm clothing.  Welly Boots can be left in school)
    • Homework will be sent home on a Monday and should be returned on  a Friday.  This is intended to support the children’s learning and should be low pressure. If you have any issues please contact me via the school office and I will be happy to help.

January- February

Welcome back to term 2.  January has been another busy month!!  We have been working hard towards our weekly targets!!  In Numeracy we have been engaging with Multiplication and Division.  In Literacy, we continue to make excellent progress with our spelling and reading, including using different strategies such as predicting, summarising and metalinguistics. 

We have also enjoyed investigating magnetism in Science;

December

December has been a busy month!!  We have had a great time engaging with Christmas activities!

October & November

Math’s and Numeracy

We have been learning different Math’s concepts and processes including Halving/Doubling, addition and subtractions.

Literacy

We have enjoyed making progress through our reading books and using different reading strategies.

We have used different strategies to help recall our spelling rules.

Health and Well-Being

In HWB we have tried healthy fruits and snacks including making Fruit Smoothies.

   

We have played different sports and activities in gym.

 

August & September

Math’s and Numeracy

We have been revising our numbers to 100.

We have been learning our Place Value.

Literacy

We have engaged in daily handwriting tasks.

We enjoy our Library visits on Mondays.

We engage with different texts during reading buddies.

Health and Well-being

We learn to take turns and play during Playskills activities and games.

We use the bikes on Fridays, it keeps us active.

In Health & Well-Being we have been learning about healthy eating choices.
