Welcome to Room 8 – Primary 6! 

Room 8 has settled in well with the adults and peers, and are already familiar with our daily routines.   We are excited for the year ahead, the learning experiences and being part of the school community.

The adults in class are as follows:

Ms.  Donnachie – SSA (Wednesday Only)

General Information

 

 Indoor shoes: Please ensure your child has a pair of indoor shoes kept in school. This helps us to keep our learning environments clean and tidy.

 Water bottles: Children are welcome to have their water bottles in class. We encourage these to contain water only. Juice can be enjoyed during break and lunchtime.

 PE: Our PE days are Monday (Sensory), Tuesday and Wednesday (Inclusion). Please remember to bring appropriate indoor/gym shoes on these days.

 Woods: We will be visiting our school woods area on Friday Mornings before lunch. Please ensure your child brings old outdoor clothing, a jacket and suitable footwear (wellies or outdoor shoes) as we may get muddy!

Homework 

 When: Homework will be issued on a Monday and should be completed and returned by Friday each week – please contact Mr Hyndman if you have any questions.

Class Charter

Chatelherault Primary is a Gold Rights Respecting School, and our  pupils have been learning about their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

The children explored Article 12 – the right to give their opinions and have them taken seriously. They shared ideas for our Class Charter theme before using their voices to vote and make a democratic decision.  Room 8 decided on a Spongebob Square Pants Theme.

Together, they created a display highlighting our rights and actions we can take to show respect for the rights of others, with every child represented and contributing to its creation.

Our Class Charter is a reminder that everyone’s voice matters and we can respect and uphold the rights of others.
