- Our Forest School day will be on a Friday morning throughout the year with Mrs McCreadie. Please provide outdoor clothing and appropriate footwear for your child to change into.
- I will use diaries to communicate with parents and carers. Any other questions, please do not hesitate to phone the school office 😊
We have been having lots of fun in Room 8. Below are some of the things we have been up to this year!

We had great week experiencing World At Work Week. We enjoyed listening to talks from people with interesting careers e.g. beekeeper. On Friday, a fire engine came to the school and we had lots of fun sitting in pretending to be firemen!
Autism Acceptance Week
We have had a great week celebrating Autism Acceptance Week. We have enjoyed a whole school picnic, odd sock day and crazy hair day. This year’s theme is Endear To Be Different!
Easter 2025
We have had a great week leading up to Easter! We enjoyed making Easter Bonnets and going on a community walk. We made Easter cards to give out to the local community.

Showcase
Room 8 had our showcase today! Each station had a different Fairytale story theme.
We all had great fun exploring the stations and reliving the stories.
Pancake Tuesday
We had lots of fun celebrating Pancake Tuesday in class. We practised our fine motor skills by spreading jam on the pancakes! We definitely preferred eating the jam than the actual pancake!
Sensory Gym
We have been loving the obstacle courses in sensory gym! We have been practising our jumping, running, balancing skills and also chilling out skills!
January/ February 2025
Forest School
We have been enjoying Forest School in the cold, frosty weather with Mrs McCreadie! We have been playing with ice, sledging, exploring and having lots of fun!

Our new Health and Wellbeing topic has begun. We have been looking at People Who Help Us and having lots of role play fun with Mrs Burns.
AAC
We have been using a range of AAC in class this term. We have been using it to answer simple questions, sharing our views and during snack and transitioning.

We have lots of fun this Christmas! We enjoyed decorating the tree in the gym hall, cutting Santa’s beard during fine motor skills, sensory activities with Christmas baubles and a visit from Santa Claus himself!
Art
We made colour pictures by using water and tissue paper. We ripped the tissue paper into smaller chunks and placed them on a large sheet. We then sprayed water on the tissue paper and left it to dry. Finally we lifted the tissue paper and it had printed a colourful pattern on the paper.
Daily Mile
Everyday at 11.30 we have been going for our Daily Mile. This is an important part of our routine. We go out in all weathers to get some fresh and explore the big playground!
Forest School
Everyone looks forward to a Friday afternoon at Forest School with Mrs McCreadie. We enjoy exploring the woods and taking part in different activties.
Library
Every week we visit the school library and explore the different books available. If we find any we like, we take them back to class to enjoy throughout the week.
Music Room
We visit the music room every Friday afternoon and have lots of fun making noise!
