January 2024
We have been very busy this month with our new topic and various celebrations! Have a look below at some of the things we have been up to!
Topic
Our new topic for this month is Toys. We have had lots of fun exploring different toys and looking at the Toy Story Characters.
Alien Hunt
We used our fine motor skills to go on a hunt to find some aliens!
Textures
We explored textures by looking closely at the different Toy Story characters.
Mr Potato Head
We used ICT to turn our own faces into Mr Potato Heads!
Burns Night
We celebrated Burns Night 2024 by completing some Scottish themed art! We used our weaving skills to make some colourful kilts and used our artistic skills to create some glittery saltires.
February 2024
Chinese New Year
This month we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We looked at the different traditions that happen during Chinese New Year and made some art work. We worked on our cutting skills to make cuts on our Chinese Lanterns and we folded some paper and printed it to make Cherry Blossom Fans.
Litter Pick
We have been learning about how it is important to take care of our environment. We have been completing litter picks in the playground. Some of us enjoyed using the litter pickers and some of us enjoyed using our hands to clean up the playground.
Pancake Tuesday
We celebrated Pancake Tuesday by spreading some jam on pancakes and having a taste. Some of us liked the taste more than others!
Outdoor Play
We have been seeing some signs of Spring this week and have been enjoying the sunshine (while we can!). Today we spent sometime exploring outside. We visited: the trim trail, the swing, the musical instruments and the woods! We even enjoyed looking for growing flowers in the playground and a little turn on the scooters.
March 2024
Science Week
We celebrated Science Week this month. We enjoyed trying out different experiments but the Bubble Snakes were our favourite. We made bubble wands using bottles, sock and rubber bands and dipped them into washing up liquid and water.
Gruffalo
We have loved our Julia Donaldson topic this month. Our favourite story is the Gruffalo. We worked hard to make each of the characters from the story. here we are making the fox whilst learning about our 2D shapes.
April 2024
Spring
We have been looking for changes in the season this month. We have noticed new plants growing out in the playground and the changes in the trees. Here we are out on a walk to spot the differences from Winter to Spring.
Spring Art
We have been learning how to print with different objects including bottles and forks!
