A huge well done to our netball players who travelled to Brae on Friday evening to compete against teams from Unst, Brae and Yell. They won two tough games and lost one.
As always, a big thank you to parental volunteers for providing transport for our players to ensure these fixtures can take place. 🙂
The Bell’s Brae Pupil Council would like to thank the pupils from nursery to P7 who participated in our World Book Day celebrations by dressing up; attending our book sale or even just taking time to read during the day!
Our Book Sale raised a very successful £171.50 which will be used to update our classroom libraries.

With Up Helly Aa season firmly underway in Shetland the boys and girls at Bell’s Brae had their own ‘hop’. This followed a block of traditional dancing taught by Mrs Redfern and the class teachers. All pupils and staff had great fun!
Today we welcomed James Anderson and his squad to Bell’s Brae. Guizar Jarl James was representing Njord, who is said to have had the ability to calm both sea and fire. His squad suits were a mixture of orange representing ‘fire’ and blue representing the ‘sea’. We were delighted that James and his squad took the time to visit Bell’s Brae and hope they all have a fantastic day and night!
On Tuesday, Primary 1 enjoyed their ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ as part of their ‘Toys’ topic.
As it was Pancake Day, we enjoyed making and eating pancakes for our picnic. So did our teddies!
Today Lynn Halcrow came into school to say goodbye to staff. Lynn has come into work in the Bell’s Brae office for many years and she has always done a wonderful job. She will be a big miss and we wish her well in new role. 
Primary One continue to enjoy their weekly “social snack”.
We take turns preparing the snack by spreading, grating, mixing, cutting, rolling and slicing different food items.
We like to talk about what we are eating; discussing foods we like and foods we are not so sure about. Eating a snack together encourages us to ‘try’ different foods we maybe haven’t tried before.
Today, we made Valentine’s cakes 🙂
