Banton Biggies

BIG BBC bird watch

Last week we went on the Big BBC Schools birdwatch with Mr Carter and Mrs Carter.

First we saw a house sparrow that was eating bird food in our playground. they was three there, we got 23 at the end of our long walk.
Next we saw jackdaws they were a black bird with a slightly grey Neck. We saw 77 jackdaws at the end.
We saw a buzzard in the distance by Mill Pond.

And we put the birds that we got on the BBC big Schools birdwatch page. We had lots of fun doing it.
And we will continue everyday to feed the birds.

We have started collection information about the birds we see in the playground and around Banton: Banton Birds.

Sweet toothed guess

Banton primary school’s Rainbow Raisers are fundraising for the SSPCA. To raise money we are doing a guess how many sweets in this jar below.

Parents can give the money to their child with their guesses.

It is 50p for 1 £1 for 3 guesses it shall be drawn at our Burns assembly.

The Biggies have been making some animated gifs. Creating the frames in Sketches Pro app and putting them together in the 5Seconds app. More next week.

Vibration Ball

Today my group was learning about vibration and we made a video about sound and vibration. We used tuning forks to get vibration and then place the tuning fork on the side of the ping pong ball and see what it did. Made by Islay, Emma & Logan

Science Movie Sound in Water

In class we have been learning about sound and we have been doing science experiments. We have been trying to find out how fast sound can travel. We have learned that sound can travel in water but it is better in the air out of water.
