Good afternoon,

This week the boys and girls in Room 1 have been very busy learning two new sounds i and s. We have been talking about how important learning our sounds are. Ask your child if they can tell you the three reasons why we learn our sounds. (to read, to write, to spell)

In Room 1 we talk about being a successful snake in our lessons because its important the learners know what they have learned. We have been successful in our learning this week because:

I can say our sound and its name.

I can write our sound.

I can identify words with our sounds.

The boys and girls enjoyed carrying out a range of activities to help them to write their sound, please see picture below. They also enjoyed looking through our books in the library for words that had our sound in them to help expand their knowledge of words with our taught sounds.
