Our Week in Room 21

October 6, 2023 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

We’ve had an interesting and busy week in Room 21.

A high school teacher from Uddingston Grammar came in and we made poems with her and some students also came with her.

We learned that we are going to be entering the BBC’s 500 word story competition. We had a look at previous winners with Miss Napier and thought about some ideas for our planning next week.

In science, we started looking at the human eyes. Here’s some examples of what we learned: Your iris is the coloured part that goes around your pupil, the there is actually a hole in your eye and the optic nerve is the nerve that runs to your brain and processes what your eyes see. Did you know, the cornea in your eyes processes things upside down but our retina’s flip it back over? Amazing!

We were also doing French with Miss Gray and were creating our own French characters. We’re going to find out what we’re doing with them next week. We also watched a video about world leaders and their religion, taking notes about their Golden Rules.

During assembly, the maths, reading and modern languages ambassadors were chosen. In class we also voted for our pupil council and rights respecting reps. Well done to Harry, Ollie, Evan, Pippa and Brooke who secured some of these roles!
