As part of Earth day we have taken part in activities all week that have been linked to looking after our Earth.
We used no electricity when taking part in our cooking lesson, we walked into town rather than using transport and we tidied up our garden patch.
We all were effective contributors when making our no bake truffles, we all had an important role to play in the process.
We worked hard on learning how to tell the time working on our ILP targets.
We walked into town with the Transition class, we went to the shops to buy colourful items for our garden patch to help brighten it up. We are yet to be successful in growing any plants, so we are brighten up it up in other ways.
The Bluebells were responsible citizens and confident individuals while out a walk to Kay Park today. They used their safety skills when crossing the road and while walking around the park. They also enjoyed some play time on the slide and climbing frames!
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS *
The Middle Primary corridor have began our problem solving term during Maths Streaming. Today, we had a challenge of creating a balancing robot. We had to colour our robots in and tried really hard to stay within the lines. Then we used 1p coins and had to work out where to stick them so that our robot would balance. We had fun balancing them on our fingers and even on our noses!
The Stars Class had a week full of Easter activities. We made, and ate!, Easter egg shaped pizza’s, decorated eggs for rolling, created an Easter card and Jelly Bean Bunnies and made chocolate nests to send home. We met spring lambs and explored the different ways people celebrate Easter.
We mixed together melted chocolate and cornflakes to create yummy Easter nests complete with a chicken and eggs. We took one home to share with our families.
Today our John Muir group created some outdoor art. The pupils selected twigs from the sensory garden, bound them with natural wool and designed some lovely hanging displays. Super successful learners today!
To celebrate world Earth Day we enjoyed completing our activities in the garden so we were not using any electricity for light, we used the natural day light to see our work. We found leaves and rubbed them through the paper to create our flower to remind people about recycling and looking after the earth.
