Science Week – Dancing Raisins

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Bluebells class enjoyed observing the changes that take place during today’s Science experiment. We filled a cup with still water and a cup with sparkling water and added some raisins. We noticed how the raisins in the still water sank to the bottom. However, the bubbles in the sparkling water helped the raisins to ‘dance’ by bobbing to the surface. We got very excited by this!

We were also brave enough to taste the sparkling water which some of us had never tried before. Most of us didn’t like it.

Snowdrops World Book Day

Confident Individuals – Effective Contributors – Successful Learners

The Snowdrops participated actively in a variety of World Book Day activities.  Everyone took part in our assembly and shared their favourite story from our class library.  In class, the Snowdrops engaged well with our story about Winnie Wagtail – participating in drama, songs and roleplay.  For homework, the Snowdrops all brought in a favourite story from home and shared this with their friends.  We also created farm animal masks related to our story and all pupils made personal choices.

World Book Day

The Stars class enjoyed World Book Day with lots of activities. We were effective contributors and made shortbread men alongside the story, ‘The Gingerbread Man’. Some of us were confident individuals as we dressed up on World Book Day and enjoyed the story, ‘The Old Toy Room’. We made story masks and explored a selection of old fashioned toys. We made a cup and ball game and enjoyed books we had brought in to share.

LGBT Month

The Stars class read the book ‘No Matter What’ for LGBT month.  We were all responsible citizens and felt we are all the same no matter what we look like or what our families consist of. We did lots of activities including making rainbow flag cupcakes, rainbow love heart pictures, rainbow hand prints and printed a purple picture of grapes. Our week finished with purple activities in the hall which were great fun.

World Book Day

We had lots of fun for World Book Day.

We were successful learners as we explored the story of the BFG through sensory resources.

We made our own dream jars and were confident individuals choosing what colours of food colouring and glitter we wanted to add.

In the afternoon, we made our own BFG ears and queen crowns, then had a royal tea party just like the BFG did in the book. We were responsible citizens sharing snacks, choosing healthy options, and chatting to our friends.

World Book Day

*Confident Individuals*   *Successful Learners*

The Moonbeams have enjoyed exploring and responding to stories this week as part of celebrating World Book Day. The pupils learned some animal and food signs as they listened to stories ‘Dear Zoo’ and ‘Goldilocks and the three Bears.’ The children were able to demonstrate their favourite part by choosing from pictures or signing and speaking the characters names.

World Book Day Successful Learners

Apologies there is an issue affecting the upload of pictures. The Transition Boys had a wonderful time on Word Book Day. We had a couple of new faces in class. Ali Baba and The Boy in the Dress came for the day! The boys were really focussed as we read excerpts from each book. Some boys did a short study on David Walliams and some designed new characters. Everyone successfully made masks based on their favourite book.

Transition Demonstrate that they are Responsible Citizens

Apologies there is an issue affecting the upload of pictures. The Transition class finished their project creating a sensory tile. This sensory tile will form part of a sensory studio and each boy was proud to take an active part in designing, painting and building the tile.
