Pillow Forts

Hi everyone! 🙂

This weeks challenge is a family challenge.

Build a fort or hide using blankets, cushions and sheets. You can make it small and cosy or big and comfy. Once you have built your fort, get cosy inside and share your favourite book with your family!

If you are enjoying spending time outside in the sunshine, you could build a ‘tent’ outside and share a picnic with your family.

Mrs Cogswell and her son have had fun putting up a tent in their garden and created some art using things they found in the garden.

Monday the 11th of May

Hello everybody! A new week at home. A sunny morning but a cold one, you might need a jacket if you are out for your daily exercise today! I hope you all had a good week last week and enjoyed the video of the ducklings hatching.

My family and I have had lots of fun with the Seek app and have found interesting plants. Apple mint was a favourite.

Here are this week’s suggested activities.

Week 3

Keep your eye on the blog later in the week for a wee photographic quiz.

Stay healthy and be kind to each other.

home learning activities

Hi everyone, hope you are well.

Activity 1 Literacy – Please watch video  The Three Little Pigs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3Gx8InTAjM

Did you enjoy it?

Now watch the ladies creating their own houses and investigating whether the Big Bad wolf could blow them down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10hEj9qHSwY&feature=youtu.be

Now you have a go – build a house with materials you have in your house and see if your “big bad wolf” can huff and puff and blow it down.

Activity 2 Health and Wellbeing – visit these YouTube links to dance and do some movement activities at home with your family.

Shake you sillies out – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwT5oX_mqS0

Baby Shark – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqZsoesa55w

Action song – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUXk8Nc5qQ8

Activity 3 Life Skills – We try to be as independent as we can in the Sunflowers class but also helpful effective contributors. The ladies have been videoing tasks to complete around the house see if you can help do them in your house.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHz153V88AQ&feature=youtu.be

Activity 4 Expressive Arts – Do you have sticks in your garden, don’t worry if you don’t you can collect some on your daily walk. Now have a look in your house for materials you can use to make your stick into The Stickman. I used wool and wrapped it round mine and stuck on some googly eyes but you can use anything.

Activity 5 Literacy -In the Sunflowers class we love the “I-spy” sheets from  twinkl. Here are some links to them. You can also have a go and make some “I-spy” bottles. I filled mine with pasta and added some sealife stickers. I then shook the bottle around to see what animals I could see.  Mrs Adair added rice to hers and hide numbers inside to be found.

More pupil updates!

Thanks for all the photo updates over the weekend! It’s lovely to see how everyone is getting on! If you have photos to share, send please send there here.  (When sending photos, it’s a big help if they’re landscape.)

This young man in the Sungazers class has been really busy helping around the house with chores, planting seeds, writing and posting a letter to his gran and papa and being a great big brother. Well done!

Thanks to this star from the Pine class’s mum for sending this photo of him sitting up so tall, looking bright and cheery!

Wow! This family had a VE Day party in the garden. How amazing do they all look?

You might remember one of our families has been visiting the local cows on their daily walk.  The cow has had its calf – Casper!

Digidabble Week!

Willowbank School is celebrating Digidabble Week.

In school we would have been using digital technologies as much as possible this week so I thought we could try that in our homework challenge.

📸📱💻

  1. Can you borrow a camera/phone/tablet and go on a hunt for all of the colours of the rainbow? 🌈 Take photos of what you find. This can be completed indoors, outdoors or both.

  2. Now this is a tricky one! Using your camera/phone/tablet, can you find items in your house 🏠 that begin with all of the letters in your name. Take photos of what you find. I have added what I found around my house when I tried it using the letters from my name…

Mug

Ice

Scissors

Socks

Grapes

Eggs

Mirror

Microwave

Earrings

Lamp

Lucas the cat

Have fun! Remember these are just ideas and optional but if you join in, feel free to post a comment or a photograph of your achievements 😀
