Today it was snowing. We enjoyed watching the big flakes falling from the sky at morning group. We bought some snow inside to put in out tuff tray and explored it with our hands. It was very cold we made snow balls and even added some food colouring to change the colour of the snow. In the afternoon we went outside to the playground to explore the snow beneath out feet. We heard it crunch and it was slippy so we had to be very careful.

We have participated in loads of fun activities for Children in Need. We have made Pudsey ears and a mask as well as a playdoh Pudsey. We have had a duck race, iced Pudsey cakes and enjoyed spotty sensory activities. We thought Children in Need day was a good way to collect money to help other children.

We embellished CD’s with jewels and glitter then hung them in the sensory garden. They spun in the wind and sparkled in the sunshine. They made lovely garden ornaments.
*Successful Learners *Effective Contributors
We used a spray for rain, fan and ribbons for wind and a torch for sunshine to discuss the weather. Afterwards we chose our favourite type of weather using symbols. There was no real preference for any type of weather among the class.
Diwali
*Effective Contributors *Successful Learners
We were busy doing Diwali activities today. We watched a powerpoint to tell us all about the ‘Festival of Light’ then afterwards made salt dough and used this to create diva lamps. They have yet to be dried and painted but they’re looking good already. We watched Diwali videos and made colourful Rangoli pattern window decorations which looked wonderful with the sun shining through them.

We had good fun guessing which objects would move in the wind. We used a hand fan and a hairdrier to create wind. The leaves and paper were so light they blew everywhere!

We cut the bottom off a used plastic lemonade bottle and lined it with paper. We planted a sweet pea plant through the hole then filled the bottle with compost. Afterwards we hung it in the garden. We must remember to keep it well watered.
