Gardening? You can count on it!

With the good weather this week the Transition boys got out into the garden and applied their numeracy skills. The garden needed a tidy and the boys were Effective Contributors collecting the tires and arranging them in pairs. The used their knowledge of the two times table to count the total number of tires. Looking after our Earth

As part of Earth day we have taken part in activities all week that have been linked to looking after our Earth.

We used no electricity when taking part in our cooking lesson, we walked into town rather than using transport and we tidied up our garden patch.

We all were effective contributors when making our no bake truffles, we all had an important role to play in the process.

We worked hard on learning how to tell the time working on our ILP targets.

We walked into town with the Transition class, we went to the shops to buy colourful items for our garden patch to help brighten it up.  We are yet to be successful in growing any plants, so we are brighten up it up in other ways.

Counting on Green Fingers.

The Transition boys were Successful Learners this week during their gardening time. We were excited to see that the seeds planted before the Easter Holidays had germinated. The class used their numeracy skills to divide the plants up evenly to be planted outside. Everything was planted out neatly and we look forward to watching our vegetables grow.

Counting in the Garden

We changed things up a bit in the Transition class this week for Numeracy by planting some seeds to grow different vegetables. All the boys were Confident Individuals when asked to count out a certain amount of seeds to plant in the pots. The boys did an excellent job and all cant wait to taste the freshly frown vegetables later in the year.
