Willowbank School, KilmarnockThe Stars class were successful learners during science week. We explored many experiments in class (many of them very messy!) and also had a good time on Tuesday when we saw the planetarium, robots, engines and had fun with circuits on our STEM Science Day. We also had a fun Friday for Sports Relief where we took part in corridor activities.
The Stars class were pleased to be back at school after the February break. We enjoyed Valentine’s Day activities and looked for Fairtrade produce at Morrisons. We also recycled batteries too!
The Stars class enjoyed time in the sensory garden blowing bubbles. At times it was so windy the bubbles blew themselves! It was a good thing we were all wrapped up warmly. In the better weather we will return to the garden to blow bubbles using large rings and rope.
Pupils from the Stars class visited the Dick Institute today. We chose books to read and enjoyed a lovely sociable snack in the cafe.
As part of the Transition boys’ Health and Wellbeing class this week, the boys took part in some yoga. However this wasn’t just any type of yoga, it was Harry Potter Yoga! The boys were Confident Individuals following all instructions to act out the story with yoga poses. All of the boys found it very enjoyable and we still have the second half to do next week!
Some of the Stars class pupils visited the Dick Institute today. We chose then read a book, coloured in, then enjoyed snack in the café. We all had a lovely time.
The Stars class had a great time at the school party. We played corners, musical statues, pass the parcel and enjoyed dancing. Santa came too with a present for everyone.
The Stars Class rehearsed hard to learn our dance for the school Christmas concert. As angels we danced to Michael Buble’s ‘Save the Last Dance for me’ to critical acclaim from the ‘Lights, Camel, Action’ judges. We enjoyed learning and performing our dance.
The Stars Class enjoyed a visit to The Garage where we played a fun filled game of 10 Pin bowling. We even managed a few strikes!
The Transition boys Confident Individuals in their P.E. class. The boys had two areas. One was a body weight circuit and one was using the fitness machines in school. Every boy made a fantastic effort. Well done!
