- This year was a little different to our usual. We dressed up in costumes and did our nativity story in class. We all got to choose a character and put it on in front of our big stable on our board. We listened to the story and followed some instructions moving to the correct place at the correct time. We did lots of other Christmas activities in class to that will added together to create a video for our parents to view.

The Transition boys had a wonderful surprise this week when they got a visit from Holly McJingle. Holly McJingle is a helper elf and was on a mission from Santa Claus. The Transition class had written their letters to Santa and one of our boys had posted it for us. Santa received them and had written back to our boys along with a wee gift. The boys were Responsible Citizens showing excellent behaviour and manners when Holly McJingle visited to deliver the letters and gift from Santa. The boys must remember to ring their bells at 6pm on Christmas Eve!
The Transition class were Successful Learners last week when they matched numbers and groups during the song ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’. Each boy worked really well and focused on their task.
5 GOLD RINGS!!!
We were confident individuals and effective contributors at our Christmas Party. We played corners, pass the parcel, the Hokey Cokey, Statues and had lots of dancing. We had a lovely party snack time where we enjoyed the melting snowman biscuits we’d made. A great time was had by all, especially as we saw Santa too!
Yesterday we had a special visit from Santa. He came to the playground and gave each us a sack full of presents for all the friends in the Bluebells class.
We were all dressed smartly for our class Christmas party. We danced and played games and had lots fun. We were confident individuals and danced with our peers and were able to freeze and become statues with the music stopped. We were able to pass the parcel to our peers and pull off one layer when the music stopped until last layer when the winner opened a book.
We did an experiment with candy canes. We placed the candy canes in different liquids and observed to see what happened. We used symbols and made predictions about what would happen then observed to see what the results were.
Today we made Christmas cards. We painted our feet and added antlers to make them look like a reindeer we then added baubles using out fingers.
We also worked on size ordering, ordering different strips of green paper to make a Christmas tree. We used our fingers to add lights and then added glitter to look like tinsel. We had great fun with lots of smiles. We were all confident individuals putting our fingers in the paint and placing them on the paper.

We have been effective contributors creating Christmas art and craft work to take home. We completed a Christmas tree wall decoration, created colourful ‘stained glass’ bauble pictures and made salt dough baubles. We also practiced Christmas party dancing and were successful learners when we successfully tried a magnetic Christmas bottle science experiment.
