This week we got an invitation to the Willowbank School Café. The older boys and girls made our snacks, served our food and took our money. We all sat at the table and looked at the menu. We all chose something to eat. It was very yummy! Even the ladies had a special treat of mint aero slice. It was delicious. Jay even sat next to a special visitor, PC Scott was in the school and came to the café too.

We Are Out and About
First Oak outing of the year, the boys were all very excited to go a walk and it was a lovely morning. All boys were very responsible citizens and were very good with their traffic awareness.
We went to shop and used our coins to pay for our items, the boys were responsible for carrying their own money to the shop and not losing it.
A great morning out in the community.
Diwali Assembly by the Pine Room
This week we learned all about Diwali and then planned and practiced for our drama performance for the Secondary School Assembly. Sorry there aren’t many photos… Mrs Wilson forgot to charge the camera!!!! But take our word for it – we were Oscar worthy!!!
We are on the MOVE
We have been busy taking part in our MOVE group to work on our individual skills whilst interacting with our friends and having fun along the way.
All pupils have been confident individuals and successful learners when using their equipment to work extremely hard on their standing and walking.
Café Enterprise
The café enterprise group experienced their first “shift” this morning as we opened for the first time this session! All pupils used excellent listening skills and worked very hard in the roles given to them.
We have some very responsible citizens in the secondary department!
Thank you to the Sunflower class and PC Scott for coming along!
Fun with Food
Our Enterprise group are having Fun with Food, we are being confident individuals to try new food that we do not normally like to eat whilst having fun in the process.
It is only our second lesson but we are building up to making meals that we enjoy and making a pictorial recipe cook book which will be on sale at the end of the year.
We have blew bubbles in the milk and some of us made our milk disappear. We all crunched some cheerios, sprinkled in our milk, played with the cheerios in the milk with a spoon, then put some in our mouths.
We used straws to blow the yoghurt about the plate, we played with frozen yoghurt boats, made them swim about the plate then licked them to feel the temperature and have a taste.
We made a tree with breadsticks and the leaves were halved grapes, once the picture was made we licked, bit and some of us ate all the tree.
We have also tried some cheese and gammon slices, we cannot wait until our next lesson to see what we will be exploring next.
What A Busy Week
With such a busy week with trips to the Galleon and to the cinema to see Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom here are photos of Transition.
The Stars Class made a rain catcher to collect water in the garden. We sieved it through paper to see how clean it was to drink. It was full of dirt and leaves. We are so lucky to have clean water from the tap to drink and wash in. Some boys and girls from abroad are not so lucky and have to drink dirty water from rivers or lakes. We have also planted spring bulbs in the garden. We hope they will grow into colourful daffodils and tulips.
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *
The Moonbeams Class watched some animated clips about Global Goals. We particularly enjoyed Mr Bean’s Global Goals clip. We looked closely at ‘No Poverty’ and made a poster displaying this global goal.
Literacy Streaming
We have been enjoying mixing with out friends in the primary corridor for literacy streaming.
Our friends working in the Daisies class have been working hard on Phonics and can confidently sort objects by their initial sounds, complete fine motor skills activities and can identify and order letters of the alphabet.
