At participation group time, the Literacy Group has been carrying out an audit of all our reading books. If anyone thinks they have a book at home which should be returned to school, we would be very grateful.

Primary 1 and 2 party
Just a reminder that the party for Primary 1 and 2 is next Thursday afternoon (21st December). During the party each class will have a surprise visit to Santa in his lovely grotto (which has been created by our classroom assistants in the Rainbow Room, using the fabulous fireplace built by the ladies in the ECC). This will allow the children more time to play games and have fun at the party. Unfortunately we are unable to invite parents to join us due to time constraints and the grotto being quite small.
Primary 7 today – pantomimes and pen pals!
Last month Primary 7 pupils wrote their first pen pal letters to an English speaking school in Spain. This was made possible by a former pupil of Gargieston who is now a teacher in the school, contacting us and coming in to visit when home in Kilmarnock.
Well, the first letters back arrived in the post today and there was much excitement in our class!
We learned about all sorts from their favourite films and foods to Spanish customs and cuisine. Our children were not impressed at the thought of octopus and potatoes!
Now, we have made Christmas cards to send back and will pop in another letter before the Christmas holidays.
Not forgetting we had a terrific morning at the pantomime – oh yes we did!!
Pantomime and pen pals 🙂

You are invited to stay after the show for an after show party with your child. Rooms will be allocated on the day.

Christmas Fayre Thank You !
A HUGE thank you to all the parents, grandparents and family members from the school and ECC who attended our Christmas Fayre !
Thanks also to those who donated raffle prizes, tombola gifts, bottles and baking – we were overwhelmed by your generosity!!
Very special mention goes to the parents and grandparents who volunteered their time to help set up the Fayre on Thursday after school and all those parents who helped to man the stalls on the day of the Fayre. We definitely couldn’t have done it without you!!!
The total raised at present is somewhere around £4000 – a fabulous total which is far beyond our expectation, which will help to support the learning of all our pupils, particularly through IT.

P7 at Grange Concert
Just a reminder to all P7 children…
Last Monday Mr Ramsay, Principal Teacher of Performing Arts at Grange Academy, gave out letters to the P7 children about their participation in the Grange Education Group Christmas Concert. It is on the evening of Wednesday 20th December at Grange. All children have received a letter.
This is a great opportunity to sing in a large choir with their future classmates from Annanhill, Crosshouse, Hillhead and Shortlees in a Transition event.
Could the children please return their letters as soon as possible to give Grange our numbers attending? Many thanks.
Look who has arrived at our Christmas fayre!
