P7 Leavers’ Party

I’d just like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who put in so much work to make Friday night the success it was. The activities, food, drinks etc had so many lovely details on them – very thoughtful! Thanks also to Mr Dow for the great music.

It was wonderful to see all the children having such a good time, and their behaviour was excellent!

We had a number of events in order to raise money to add to our funds.

The events organised were : Christmas Cards, Designing and selling Tea Towels, Class photographs, Halloween Disco, Spring Disco, Family Beetle Drive, Ladies Night, Zumba/Football Fundraising Event, ECC Bunny Hop Fundraising Event and a Movie Night.

We would just like to thank everyone that helped towards raising this amazing amount of money for Gargieston Primary and ECC. This can only be done with your help through donating, volunteering and attending events.

Dyslexia Friendly Schools Maintenance Award

Today three of our upper school children – Hannah Paterson, Ali Rahman and Beth Patterson – attended an awards ceremony in Dumfries House to receive our certificate for managing to maintain our Gold Status. One year on, we are still one of only 5 schools in the authority to achieve this.

We are extremely proud of this award and thank all staff, parents and pupils for their hard work and support – it really is a team effort!

P7 Leavers’ Assembly

Just a reminder that the P7 Leavers’ Assembly will be:

Wednesday 27th June at 7pm

With this being a small year group, it will be possible to allow a third family member – but this would include other children. Many thanks.

Remember a tissue – there may be tears!!

Music Tuition Assembly

All of our current P5 pupils are so lucky to receive strings tuition every Friday from Jean Hendry, our visiting music specialist.  We also have children receiving music tuition from Mr. Paterson, Miss Craven, Ms Martin and Miss Tomlinson. At our Monday afternoon assembly next week, Monday 25th June from 2pm we  will be entertained by all of these pupils who receive music tuition. Parents of these pupils are very welcome to join us!!

Kilmarnock Football Club

As football fever sweeps the nation, we have two complimentary tickets for a Kilmarnock FC home game next season (excludes old firm games).

Boys and girls, if you would like the chance to win these tickets, please write in less than 100 words why you think you should be the winner. All entries should be handed to Mrs Lawson by Friday (22nd June) and a winner will be announced in our last week of term. Entries can be hand written or word processed. Good luck everyone!!
