is our last
** Wider Achievement Assembly ** of the year!
Any children with achievements to share should bring in their medals or certificates tomorrow (Friday 30th November).
Thank you so much to everyone who brought in medals, cups, rosettes, certificates and more, to show us what a talented school we have. Learning does not stop at the school gates and it is so important to see the achievements out with the classroom too. Well done, everyone and we will start a new wall in Term 1 next session.
Our display is now up in the café area of the school and it is fabulous to see all the amazing activities our children take part in when they leave us each day. There are a few spaces left, so if anyone else has a medal or certificate they have at home from 2018 and not yet brought t in, feel free to bring it tomorrow (Wednesday) and I shall take their photo for the display.

Even with all the rain (and some of the children being up at 6.15 am this morning!!) Mr Smith and Mrs Bloomfield have been in touch to say all is well!
Mr Smith and Mr Johnston took one group abseiling and Mrs Bloomfield was mountain biking with the others. Also lovely to hear that the children are being a credit to the school.
Fingers crossed for some sunshine tomorrow!
Wow! Thank you to all the boys and girls who brought medals, certificates, badges and trophies following the post on the blog last week!
We saw recognition for :
athletics, dancing, horse riding, tennis, football, judo, gymnastics, golf, Taekwondo, cross country, plus badges for Beavers!!
All the photos will be printed and everyone can look out for the new display going up in the school in the next week or so. What a talented school we have! Perhaps we could do this every term next session…

Congratulations to Kallum Tang in Primary 4A for being the first person in the school to bring in a completed 4, 4, 2 Reading Challenge card! Kallum has borrowed 4 books from The Dick Institute, receiving 4 stamps on his card and a ticket for free entry to a Kilmarnock FC home game.
Very well done, Kallum! Hopefully lots more boys and girls in the school will follow in your footsteps!
Next week we would love to hear all about the children’s achievements out of school. We know we have many successful athletes, swimmers, artists, horse riders to name only a few.
On Wednesday this week, 25th April, we would love the children who have achieved something outwith school in 2018 to bring in their certificates, medals, cups etc. to allow us to photograph them and showcase all the talents they have.
Looking forward to seeing what comes in…!

Why not pop along to The Dick Institute and see all the entries by some of our P7 Children to the My Place exhibition? The photographs were taken to enter a national competition, but East Ayrshire is also showcasing the entries from local schools, including Gargieston.
The pictures on display include Laura Mitchell’s prize winning entry – Caprington In The Mist.
The exhibition is free entry and will run until 9th June, so why not have a look and see how many places you recognise from our local area. Here’s a few more to get you started…
Huge congratulations to the group of Primary 3 children who performed in The Grand Hall at Dance Fest this week. They had rehearsed hard and their enthusiasm was clear for all to see during their performance. So proud of you all! A big thank you to Emma Dickson in Primary 7 who helped train the group and was with them every step of the way on the night doing everything from their make-up and hair, to calming their nerves.
Freya Lee in P4A took part in the Ayrshire Association of Burns Clubs School Competition at St Joseph’s Academy and won 3rd place for P4/5 Verse Speaking. What a fantastic achievement. Well done Freya!!
Congratulations to all the other children who also made it to these finals. They were all delighted to give up their Saturday to represent the school and we couldn’t be prouder.
