Kilmarnock Cricket Club lessons

Over the past few years, Gargieston has been very fortunate to have had coaching sessions from Mark Colman for the children in Base 4. The children have benefitted greatly from his expertise in passing on his skills and enthusiasm for the game. We have even had success in competitions thanks to his input.

Mark also runs sessions directly through the Club and would invite interest from children in joining him in their evening sessions at the Scott Ellis Playing Fields. Please see below for further details and contact numbers.

Let’s Introduce Anxiety Management

Congratulations to Miss Davidson who has successfully completed ‘Let’s Introduce Anxiety Management’ (LIAM) training with the NHS.

LIAM is an intensive program of targeted support which Miss Davidson can now deliver with individual children aged 8 and over.

We are delighted to be able to offer this to our children at Gargieston in addition to our current approaches of supporting mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

Gargie Bake Off!

Hello to all of our families at Gargieston!

It’s your House Captains here and we have been very busy planning a special week for whole school. We have organised a Bake Off! This is a house competition and we encourage everyone to take part! We will judge the photos that are sent in by choosing our two favourite bakes from our house and these will be passed on to the teachers who will decide the overall winning house!

Please watch your House Captains’ video and check out the recipe which goes alongside it. If you are in the ECC, you can choose which baking challenge to do!

Active Schools Co-ordinators

For the last 3 weeks Gary Seymour and Kirsty Millar from Active Schools have been working in the playground with Base 3 classes delivering fitness lessons through dance and games, all within the current guidelines to keep everyone safe. These morning exercises have had such a positive impact on the children’s work for the rest of the day!

From Monday they will be moving to start a new block with the classes in Base 2. Could we ask that all the children in these classes come prepared every day with a waterproof jacket and suitable footwear, as they will be going outside for these activities?

Many thanks
