Backpacks on their way to Malawi

On Thursday , the 62 Backpacks that were donated to the school, began their journey to be delivered to children in schools in Malawi. A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated a backpack or items for a backpack and who helped to make this project a big success.  Our photos show members of the Rights Respecting Schools group who helped with the project, passing the backpacks along the line to the Mary’s Meals van drivers, James and Cross who sorted the backpacks  in those for boys and those for girls. That way Mary’s Meals can ensure the most suitable bags are given to a Malawian child to encourage them to attend school.                                                                                          This project and the work we have done at assemblies, has helped us to realise how lucky we are but also to know that there are ways we can make a difference to the lives of other children on another continent of the world.   Special thank to Orla, Keira, Morgan and Zara from P7 whose idea it was to choose a Global Citizenship project which would help others in their final term as pupils at Gargieston Primary School.                              Thank you girls. We are so proud of you!!

Running Club

Our running club has now finished for this school session.  Thank you so much to all the children who have attended.  They have demonstrated commitment and determination and we have seen some great improvements in their fitness levels over the course of the year – well done!

I would also like to thank Mrs Robertson and Mrs Dyet who have joined us regularly for a Wednesday morning run with their children.  Finally, thanks to Mrs Baird (who has barely missed a week!) and all the other members of staff who have supported our club.  We have even bigger and better plans for next session – keep your eyes peeled when we return for more information 🙂

P7 Leavers Party

What a great night we all had last night at the Leavers’ Party. The mums and dads had organised everything from a disco to a surf simulator, a pizza delivery to an ice-cream van visit and decorations all over the hall!

Thanks to everyone who helped and made it all possible. It was a night to remember!

LOST – BLACK AND YELLOW GLASSES WITH TRANSFORMER ON SIDES

Could you please check your child’s schoolbag and inform the office if you find these glasses? Thank you.

Cricket

Well done to our cricket teams who won yesterday’s competition at the Scott Ellis Playing Fields. We all had a great morning, thank you to Mark for organising it!
