QI Awards 2018

We were delighted that our Intergenerational Project was awarded the most innovative and inspiring project at the Quality Improvement Awards ceremony in Glasgow last night.  Congratulations to Laura Haggerty, the team in our ECC and the team at Springhill Care home who work together on this project.

Parent Focus Group

As you are aware, we will be welcoming colleagues from East Ayrshire Council into our school next week as part of our local authority Learning Visit.  The team will observe learning experiences in our ECC and throughout the school and will meet with a variety of focus groups during their visit.

They would like the opportunity to meet with a parent focus group on Monday 19th November at 2.30pm.  Please register your interest below if you wish to be part of this group.

Only those parents that are interested in taking part should complete the contact form.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Children in Need 2018

P3A are fundraising for Children in Need this year.  The reason we are supporting this charity is because they help British children.  They help children in need who are disabled, have hard lives, have serious illnesses or are poor.  We are running an enterprise business to try and raise money for this amazing charity.

Items will go on sale from Monday 12th November.

This year for Children in Need we are selling the following products:

Wristbands –  £1

Pudsey and Blush Ears –  £2.50

Light-up Keyrings –  £2

We are also selling Pick ‘n’ Mix sweeties in little bags which P3A have made as part of their enterprise topic.  These will be 30p.

If you wish you can wear spotty or Pudsey clothes  for 50p on 16th November.

Thank you we hope you can help.

Huge congratulations to our swim team who competed so successfully at The Citadel in Ayr on Saturday. A particular mention must go to Sam McCallum who was 2nd in the 50m Freestyle, 4th in Back Crawl and 5th in Breast stroke. Fingers crossed Sam will be put forward for the national finals next year.

Thank you for being such good ambassadors for Gargieston!

School Photographs

The GFG would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who purchased a photograph.   We have received a fantastic £1,200 in commission from the sales which will go towards the Trim Trail.

Thank you again.

Developing Our Vision and Values – Part 2

Developing Our Vision and Values – Part 2

Thank you to everyone who responded to our first question last week.  Throughout your responses, there were common threads and key themes, some of which related to attainment and achievement but many of which related to the development of core values.

The next ‘big’ question as part of this process is:

What do you want your children to carry away with them as they leave us in Primary 7, something which may stay with them for the rest of their lives, as a result of the systematic attention we all paid to it at Gargieston PS and ECC?

Please take some time this week to consider this question and jot down your ideas in the comments box.  Remember there are no right or wrong answers and your answer may be similar to some of the information you provided last week.  We will collate this information on Friday 9th November.

Your views are important to us and we look forward to receiving your responses.
