IF YOU GO OUT IN THE GROUNDS TODAY, YOU’RE IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE……………..

Some strange looking characters have set up camp in the grounds of Rosneath Primary School! They sent a letter to the children pleading for a place to stay after being “evicted” from their home (field) on a nearby farm for not doing their job properly. What a cheek!

We think they help make our grounds look spectacular so they can stay for as long as they like. Welcome to our new Scarecrow Family made from recycled materials.

Dunoon Primary School Gardening Club – Harvest Update

In September, children in Dunoon Primary School’s Gardening Club harvested their first crop of potatoes. After throwing away the bad ones and cleaning the soil from the rest, the children piled the potatoes into the barrow and delivered them across the road to the local health food store, Eco Grain, to be sold. (They also kept a few behind for tasting and all agreed that they were very tasty!) Local shoppers had to be quick off the mark as already we’ve heard that the potatoes have sold out! We’ll need to start working on a bumper crop for next year …

Strath of Appin Cycle Ride

Strath of Appin Pre-5 unit and P1 pupils went on a long cycle ride on 17th Sept. The event was suggested by a pre-schooler who enjoyed cycling and as the school is next to the Route 78 track the group took full advantage of this. The children were joined by staff and parent helpers. The children completed a total of 6km, which was a brilliant effort. All children gained a real sense of achievement, enjoyed keeping physically fit and were very responsible whilst cycling as they had to be aware of other users of the track. We were very fortunate with the weather too! Continue reading Strath of Appin Cycle Ride
