P3 Home Learning Wednesday 24.6.20

Good morning Primary 3, I can’t believe that this is our last week of the school session! I just want to say that it has been a pleasure to teach you again this year. You have achieved so much and I am very proud of you. I wish you all the best as you move on to Primary 4.

Here are your home learning activities for today and the resources you will need. You can record the answers to the activities in your jotter or on the sheets if you are able to print them.

Have a great summer P3!

P3 Home learning – Tuesday 23.06.2020

Bonjour ma classe!

I hope you are all well and are enjoying your final week as Primary 3.

In Maths today I would like you to break the code! Answer the questions A to G  in your jotter or on paper, remember to write the date and E9 as a title. Once you have answered the questions, write the answers in the order of letters at the top of the question page. Then I would like you to answer question 2 at the bottom of the page. You may find it useful to use a 100 square to go back and forward or jump in tens. If you need to use this, I have attached one below. Like I said in yesterday’s post, Do not print the question page as it will use too much ink.

Then I would like you to make a healthy snack! What is healthy about it? Are there any parts which are fair trade? What food has come from your local area? What foods have come from a country further away? Can you draw your snack on a plate or take a photo of your plate and explain where your food has come from?

Also, here is two fun science activities to follow on from yesterday’s task, choose one or both to try:

Fish Bowl Spinner

Shark Flickbook

Have a wonderful day,

Mrs Love

Primary 3 – 22/06/2020

Good morning Primary three pupils and parents.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I cannot believe that I am writing this, but this is your last week as Primary three’s! This year has come in so quickly and it feels like it was only yesterday that we were all together in the classroom on the first day of P3! Although this is not how we would have planned the ending of the school year, we can still look at all we have achieved and be proud of how we have progressed. I am so proud of you all.

This week I will still be sending out activities to be completed along with the health fortnight grid sent out last week which I will attach below. Maths this week will be a revision of topics we have covered and some fun activities. I will also be including a few science/craft activities so please pick what ones you would like to do of these as a bit of fun for the end of term.

Fitness grid: Health-Week-Pack

For today, I would like you to complete this Maths revision of Multiplication which we have worked very hard on this year. Write the sum’s out in your jotter or on a blank piece of paper (remember to write the date and E10 at the top of the page). Once you have answered the sum’s, work out the message that the Alien has been trying to communicate with you. NOTE TO PARENTS: Please save your ink and do not to print off this sheet, as it will use a lot of ink. Use a laptop or device and get your child to write the sum’s and answers in their jotter or on paper. Thank you.

Secondly, I would like us to take a look at Fair trade. Before you look at the PowerPoint, What is Fair trade? What do you know about it already?

I would like you to look at the PowerPoint and create a poster afterwards to encourage people to buy Fair trade products. Think of the answers to these questions when creating your poster… What is Fair trade? Why is it important? What benefit’s do buying Fair trade products have over non Fair trade products?  Remember a poster needs to be eye catching and bold with writing that grabs the attention of people reading it.

As an extra activity, it would be wonderful if you could write a list of the food you eat in one day. Where does your food come from? (You will be surprised at how far food has travelled!). Is the food you eat Fair trade?

Here are two science/fun experimental activities to do. Choose one or both to try out. Can you explain what is happening and how it works? NOTE TO PARENTS: Please save your ink and do not to print off these sheets, as it will use a lot of ink. Use a laptop or device to read the instructions.

Have a wonderful Monday and please send photo’s of the pupils on task so I can see how they are getting on via my email address or tag me in photos on Twitter using @MrsLoveP3

Last week of P4!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and looking forward to the last week of term. We are still focussing on Health Week and the activities on the grid that was issued last week. Well done to all who submitted Sports Day results – Primary 4 were very well represented.

I have also provided a learning grid with some other activities as usual. The last batch of documents I will add this week are optional activities that some of you might like to do during the holidays. Remember that all activities from during Lockdown are also still available here on the blog or on Teams, so you can catch up if you are able.

19.6.20 P1 Sharing their Learning

With two weeks to go in the term, fitness fortnight starting and a little more freedom to meet others, it has been a new beginning and yet more of the same.  As usual you have done us proud, whether you are doing planned school work or making your own learning activities, or even just keeping going.  Resilience has many facets and we don’t always recognise we have it until we look back.  Remember you are doing ok and we have loved being on the journey with you.

Many of you have once again shared some of the highlights of your week and it has been great to see the varied activities that are going on. We have also valued seeing you doing other things too, as the saying goes, a change is as good as a rest.

As it is fitness fortnight, lets start with some photos of your sports day events, with a special well done to the virtual sports day winners Calderwood House.

You have been doing great learning this week:

Spelling and writing

Maths:

Life cycles:

There is so much fantastic reading going on:

And you are going out and about getting the chance to meet others or sometimes its just about having fun.

One more week of virtual school, lots of fun activities coming your way for our final Hurrah!

Remember if you have any further questions about anything just ask.
