Remember to use the different headers to help you complete your task – you need to include:
Title
Goal

Steps
Here are the Genre and core targets as well as the genre and core targets self assessment placemats:
Remember to write your stories in your jotters or paper. I will have a live check in on Teams with you all about 10:15 am to hear some examples of your writing!
In Class Materials> Class Materials– Mrs Hillan Folder in files, is a link to the next chapter of our story, Mr Stink. Once you have listened to this you can try the Reading Comprehension task that is detailed below. There is a Mild, Spicy and Hot activity – you can choose which one you want to do. Remember to challenge yourself where you can!! I will check back in with you all around 12:15 on Teams Chat.
TASK:
L/I To show my understanding of a text.
S/C I can use my knowledge of what I have read as well as my skimming and scanning skills to locate key information to answer the questions about the text.
Task: Read the Comprehension Task on Grizzly Girl and then answer the questions that follow. Remember you can go back to the text as often as you like and some questions may require to give your own answers and your opinion. Try to answer in full sentences where required. There is a Mild, Spicy and Hot task to choose from. Add your completed comprehension into your folder, these can just be written on a piece of paper and don’t need to be printed off. Please remember, all tasks with me are in ‘Class Materials> Class Materials – Mrs Hillan’
T – I can use my skills in subtraction to subtract multiples of 10.
S&C- I can use my skills in subtraction to subtract a single digit, bridging a multiple of 100, 10.
Task: In the Class Materials> Class Materials – Mrs Hillan folder in files section you will find your textbook task for today – Triangles Group (Red SHM3 textbook) and Squares & Circles Group (Green SHM4 textbook) will both be there – pick the task set for your group, you all know which textbook you have been working on in class. Please put your completed task via photo or whatever works best for you into your folder in the files section. After this then try the Spelling and Health and Wellbeing tasks. All tasks are in Class Materials> Class Materials– Mrs Hillan Folder in files. I will check back in with you all later on Teams around 2:15pm.
Using your spelling words again, can you create a Hidden Picture with your spelling words– draw a picture of anything you wish and hide your spelling words within this. Add these/photo of these into your folder once finished.
You can also make a loop game to practise your tables. And if you have time the appropriate multiplication activity on Education City.
Reading: I will read the class novel “Wonder” live after lunch at 1:30. The follow up activity is the role of Questioner from Literacy Circles. I also want you to find a book that you like and silently read it. We will ask each other questions about the books we are reading. Again just use the sheet as support but write the work into your jotters.
Spelling: I have up-loaded (into this file: Teams > P 5-6 Mr Colverson > Files > Class Materials > Spelling) the overviews for P5 and P6, as well as P4 and P2, which you can use for additional support. There is also the Fry’s list of common words. I have also up-loaded a list of spelling activities.
Filled with approx. 20 pages of activities linked to all areas of the curriculum to ensure we are encouraging skills in numeracy, literacy, relate to science, health and wellbeing, expressive arts, languages, RME, social studies and technology. These can be accessed at home by the pupils and are, as always, free
Children will be able to demonstrate they have completed each page of the booklet through solving clues as they go along in the form of anagrams. They can only get the letters for their anagram by sourcing the answers relating to each activity (one activity per curriculum area per page based on a specific topic). At the end of the book there will be a page to record all the anagrams and solve our Inspectors mystery.
On Monday’s daily plan I left out the “nagging” paragraph. Unfortunately on Monday afternoon Teams was not being used appropriately. So: Please remember that “Teams” gets really busy during the day so you are better off accessing the resources you need from “Files” the night before. Please also do not click on “New Conversation” in “Posts”. Please also remember it is not the correct platform for chat. Please do not post Giffs or pictures of pets etc, and keep your posting and pinging to the minimum, for example use the thumbs up “Like” emoji rather than post “OK”. This will make it easier for you to find things and be less distracting. Another plea: make sure you read this document and the timetable as it has a lot of answers to the questions you are asking. You should not need to ask each what you should do as it is all written here.
If you have done everything else do Education City and spelling.
The other website I love is the BBC: check this out and show your parents / carers
Reading: I will read the class novel “Wonder” live after morning check ins. The follow up activity is the role of Questioner from Literacy Circles. Again just use the sheet as support but write the work into your jotters.
Read the 3 slides from the PowerPoint “Wonder Questions1” and answer them. You can use this to inspire your own questions.

This is an important message: I have moved the CLASS MATERIALS – MRS HILLAN folder into the folder that simply says CLASS MATERIALS in files. This is where you also access Mrs Lockhart’s & Mrs Dobbie’s tasks. This way everything is kept together and no tasks should be deleted.
