Final day of term!

Happy Summer Holidays!

I cannot believe that it is the final day of term. I know when we went off school back in March nobody thought that we would be off for this long. It is has been such a challenge for everyone but you have all risen to the challenge and been excellent pupils to work with.

We have loved having you check in on our Teams page and join in the calls. We will have a final call today at 10am so please join in for a final chat!

Mrs Spence, Mrs Drummond and myself all made a little video message for you all that we have posted on the Teams page if you would like to see it. We just want you all to lnow how much we have missed you and that we hope you all have an amazing summer holiday.

Please remember to stay safe and well during the holidays. Always use suncream when it is sunny and drink plenty water, keep washing those hands and make sure you keep talking about your feelings! Remember all the strategies we have used in our VIP room, like mindfulness colouring, meditation, worry monsters and so many more.

Finally, we all wish you the very best for the holidays. To our Primary 7’s who are leaving for high school just remember that you will be great and come back to visit! We are all looking forward to seeing you next session back in the V.I.P room. Have an amazing holiday filled with lots of fun and laughter!

Love from,

Miss Donaldson

Good morning V.I.P room!

We cannot believe that it is almost time for the end of term and the school holidays. It has been challenging being out of school for so long and you have all done an amazing job. It will feel strange finishing the school year without saying goodbye to your class and meeting your next teacher. Please reach out Teams to let us know how you are and remember that we have our final call tomorrow before the holidays.

If you are looking for an activity to do then why not plan a party for the end of term. You can do this with your family and celebrate the start of the holidays. Here is a template you can use if you need inspiration:

Party Plan

It is meant to be another beautiful day so make sure you take care in the sun. Put on plenty of suncream and drink lots of water.

Have a good day,

Miss Donaldson

V.I.P room 24.6.20

Good morning,

Wow! The sun is shining and it is to be a beautiful day! Please make sure you try to enjoy the weather but also keep safe and wear suncream if you are playing outside.

This is the final week before the end of term so I have included some transition activities in this weeks menu. Please think about what it is you would like your new teacher to know about you for next session. Think about your personality, talents, interests and what makes you happy. I have included some resource sheets should you want to use a template in the files section of our Teams page (folder called week 12) or you can download a template here:

All about me

There are also some fun activities such as planning a party for the end of term with your family. Please keep us updated on the Teams page about how you are and what you have been doing. We will have a final Teams call on Friday for the end of term.

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

Good morning,

I hope everyone is well. We will not be having a call this morning on our Teams page. We will be having a final call on Friday this week to check in with everyone before the end of term. Please do continue to check in by posting messages on our main Teams page or you can upload pictures of the work you have been doing.

Yesterday I posted a menu of activities you could choose to do this week. I uploaded a folder of resources to our Teams page in the files section, the folder is called week 12. You can use whatever you need if you are completing those activities. I have also posted the letter from Pink Crayon there as that is final letter from the Crayons. If you need to see the letter you can also see it here:

Pink crayon letter

Please do check in on our page and let us know how you are and what you are up to in the final week of school!

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

Good morning!

It is the final week of this term, I cannot believe it! These are very strange times and we are missing being in school and doing transition activities. Please do remember that we are online on Teams throughout the school days if you would like to check in and talk to us about how you are feeling.

menu

I have included a menu of activities that you may want to do this week. We are on our final letter from the Crayons. Read pink Crayon’s letter carefully and think about what Duncan should do. I have included a template for you to create your own picture book using what you now know about the all the crayons. See if you can put in all the crayons that we have read about and decide on an ending for the story.

Story template

There are also RRS activities that you may be doing with your class as well as some end of year activities. Please do what you can but remember to have fun and use this time to check in with us, your friends or teachers.

Have a super week!

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

Good morning,

I hope you are having a good week and you are able to complete some of the sports day activities that Mrs Ferguson has set you. Please make sure you put your points in to help your house win our virtual sports day. You can do this on the main page of the blog.  https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/Carmondean/
I have made some of the activities in this weeks menu about sports day so please use the resources in the week 11 folder. They can found in the files section of our Teams page and you can make some posters, certificates or pictures for your at home sports day.
I have also added the links to this weeks RRS article, you may already be doing this with your class. This weeks article is article 2 – Non-discrimination.
Please read the article carefully then think about what is needed for everyone to be able to enjoy all their rights fairly. Make notes on what you decide is needed. There are also activities that you can do that are related to this article in this weeks menu:
Have a super day and don’t forget to check in on here or join our group call tomorrow at 10am.

Please remember to take part in the sports day activities that Mrs Ferguson has set and submit your results to her so she can see how many points each house has! You can find all the information on the school blog. and resources you will need on the main page of the blog. https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/Carmondean/
Please post your results and any pictures for Mrs Ferguson to see how you are getting on. Remember to check in on our Teams page to let us know how you are!

Good morning,

I hope you have had a good week and have managed to complete some of your tasks. Please post completed work on our Teams page by uploading it or sharing a picture of your work.

I have attached a story book template for you to begin to start writing your own book about the day the Crayons quit. This is a chance for you to become an author and create your own story. You can use the template to write on and create your own illustrations or you can make your own book using resources at home. I can’t wait to read your stories!

We will be having a Teams call tomorrow at 10am. It would be lovely to hear from you then so please feel free to join and share your news with the group. It is a great opportunity to talk to the group and have a good chat!

Have a good day!

Good morning,

I hope yo uare all well. It was lovely to hear from some of you yesterday on our Teams call. We will have another call at 10am on Friday if you could not join yestersday call. It would be great to hear how everyone is getting on and what activities you have been doing. Remember you can also post messages on the Teams page or upload pictures of what you have been doing on there for the group to see.

This week we have been focused on the letter from Blue crayon. Hopefully you have thought about the emotions that Blue Crayon is feeling and have identified the tiggers for these emotions. This is tricky as Blue has a mixture of feelings, some very positive but also some that are negative. This week why don’t you try and help Blue with the negative feelings by build the crayons a new home to stay in, one that Blue cCrayon is able to see out of. You can use any materials that you can find in the house (that you are allowed!) or if you can’t find anything to use here is a template of a crayon box that you can adapt:

I hope you have a great day!

Good morning V.I.P room!

I hope you are all well and are back into your online learning routines. We have a Teams call today at 10am on our posts page. Please feel free to join in so that you can tell us all about how you are feeling and what you have been up to. If you are unable to join the call then do not worry but still check in when you can by posting on our Teams page or posting in the comments on the main page of the blog.

Yesterday I asked you to read the letter from Blue Crayon. Your first activity was to identify all the different emotion words used to describe how Blur Crayon is feeling and then what has triggered him to feel this way.

Today why not try to complete the profile for Blue Crayon. You will need to use the letter to help you answer the different sections of the profile. Try to use what you know from the letter and the picture to fill in the profile.

Hopefully we will hear from you at 10am on our call if not have a lovely day!

Good morning,

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. This week will be focusing on the letter from Blue Crayon.

Blue letter

You need to read through the letter carefully to identify all the different feelings Blue has and then write out all the emotion words that you think explain his feelings on the emotion words sheet. You also need to pick out what has triggered Blue Crayon to feel this way and write these out on the triggers sheet. You can find these sheets in the files section of our Teams page or there are links below:

Good morning V.I.P room.
How is everyone today? It would be lovely to hear what you have been doing or see pictures of the activities you have completed.
As you know this weeks menu of activities relating to Oranges letter, RRS and other tasks are stored in the files section about in the folder labelled week 9.

This weeks article for RRS is Article 19 and it is all about how you are kept safe.Article 19 – Protection from violence, abuse and neglect Governments must do all they can to ensure that children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them. Think about who keeps you safe and how they do that. Your class will also be doing work on this article so you will have already be aware of this. Here are some more activities you can try that relate to this article:

Please post about what activities you have completed on our Teams page or take pictures of your work to upload.
We also have a Teams call tomorrow at 10am so we will hopefully speak to you all then.

Miss Donaldson

Good morning!
How are we all today? I hope you enjoyed the nice weather yesterday as it seems to have a taken a turn! Let us know what you have been up and any plans you have for this week by posting on our Teams page.
One of the activities I posted in last weeks grid was to write a movie review. I did not put it on this page or the Teams page last week as the weather was so lovely. I didn’t think anyone would want to be inside watching a film. However, today might be the perfect time for a family film. You and your family should choose a film together to watch and then write a review about what you thought of it. You then post your review on our Teams page so that we can see if you thought it was good and it might help us decide what to watch next with our families. Here is the review template:

If you post a pitcure of your completed one on our Teams page we will be able to see what you thought of your film.

Have a lovely day!

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

The weather is meant to be lovely over the weekend as well so maybe you could try planning a family sports at home to do in your garden!

I have included in this weeks menu a task to keep a diary. It is important to consider this as when you are older you may want to look back at what this time was like and a diary will help you to remember how you felt and the types of activities you did. I have included a template for a diary entry in the files section of our Teams page and here is a link to it below:

That means as many words as can to describe that feeling. You can use a Thesaurus to help you check the words you have found or you can ask your family or us on Teams for help. Please post pictures of the work you have completed on our Teams page.

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday. The weather was beautiful so I hope you were able to enjoy some outdoor activities. Please remember to post pictures of what you have been up to on our teams or just post a message to check in and tells how you are. We will also be having a Teams call tomorrow at 10am if you would like to join and catch up with some of the group. You can say as much or as little as you want and everyone gets a turn to talk.

In Green Crayons letter he writes about friendships. I have included some activities in this weeks menu about freindships and what makes a good friend. Why not try completing the what makes a good friend challenge to see what you find are the most important traits for a good friend:

t-s-870-what-i-want-in-a-friend-activity_ver_1 (1)

You will need to choose the things that you think are the most important for your friend to have to make them a good friend to you and you need to be able to discuss why you chose them. Green also writes about some problems his friends are having and asks Duncan to help sort this out. I have included in the resources (that can be found in the files section) a friendship wheel that you can print or make yourself with some strategies for solving problems.

Friendship-Wheel

Maybe you can create your wheel with different ways you would solve any problems with your friends.

Let us know how you get on with the activities on Teams and hopefully we will chat tomorrow on our call.

Good morning V.I.P room!

Today we will be having a Teams meeting at 10am to check in. It would be lovely to hear how you are all doing and what you have been up to so please join in.

I have uploaded the menu of activities for this week in the files section of the page and included some resources you might you need. Please post pictures or tells us what you have been doing on our Teams page or on the comments section of the main blog page.

One of the activities on the menu this week was to make a puppet theatre so you can create your own shows and tell stories to your family. In previous weeks I have included templates for puppets in the activities if you would like to use those for your theatre. You can use an old shoe box or cereal box to make your own puppet theatre but you may need some help with the cutting out. Here is an example:

Good luck! I am looking forward to hearing from you at 10am on our Teams call.

Welcome back everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week of online learning. It would be lovely to hear what you did at the weekend and how you are feeling so please post us a message on our teams page. Last week it was VE day so if you have any examples of work you did or you did anything special to celebrate please also post about this on our page.

Your class may be asking to you to learn about the articles linked to Rights Respecting school. This week we are focusing on Article 14.

Article 14 – Freedom of thought, belief and religion.

Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents to guide their child as they grow up.

I have included some activities you can be doing to show your understanding of this in our weekly menu of tasks. Why don’t you start by  writing down some things you believe in strongly. Share these with your family and discuss what they mean to you.

We also have a new letter from Black Crayon this week. When you are reading this remember to consider the emotion words you would use to describe how Black Crayon is feeling and also what is triggering Black crayon to feel this way.

Good morning V.I.P room!

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a good week learning from home and that you have hopefully been able to enjoy some of the better weather outside. We will be doing a team call just before 10am on our teams today and it would be great to hear what you have been up to this week so please join in.

Today is a very special day as it is VE day. VE day stands for victory in Europe day. On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany’s surrender the day before. Today is the 75th anniversary of this, to mark this there will be a 2 minute silence at 11am today. Lots of people celebrate this day by having parties, singing and dancing just as they did in 1945 when they heard that World War II was coming to end.

I have included some resources in our files section on Teams to help you plan for and create your own celebration at home. You could plan a tea party or a teddy bears picnic with our family. Here is a link to make bunting for your celebration.

Bunting

Please let me know how you and your family celebrate today. I hope you have a great day and a lovely weekend!

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a lovely day yesterday and managed to enjoy some of the sunshine. It is supposed to be lovely again today so please stay safe if you are outside. Remember to drink plenty of water and use sunscreen.

On this weeks activity grid I have not included a letter from the crayons as it is a short week. I have instead included activities you can try outside or with your family and some activities linked to VE day which is being celebrated this week. Please have a look on our teams page for resources that you can use for these activities.

You may have heard the adults in your house speak about VE day which is short for Victory in Europe Day or maybe you have planned some celebrations with your family. Your teacher may also have given you some work to do all about VE day. If you need some more information about VE day watch bbc newsround:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/48201749

Here is the activity grid for this week:

There are lots of nice activities to do outdoors in this nice weather so please take any pictures of what you d and post them onto our teams page! I am going to try and make nature paint brushes today:

Make your own Nature Paintbrushes - Painting with flowers and ...

Have a lovely day and stay safe!

Good morning!

I hope everyone is keeping well and managing to stay busy and healthy.

In the classroom we talked about how to fill a bucket and that you can fill you your bucket or someone else’s by doing kind and nice things for them. One of the actvities on the menu is to make a warm fuzzy jar. This is very similar to the bucket we had:

When you feel good or positive or put a sticker into the jar. You may feel happy because someone in your house has made you feel happy or you can put one in because you have done something that has made someone else happy. You can use the stickers in the files section of our teams page:

Or you can use a real jar that you have at home (which is empty) and then fill it with things you have in the house – for example you might have your own pompoms that you can use. You can make one for each person in the family or maybe jusy have one for the whole family. If you choose to make one please take pictures and post them on our teams page!

Remeber that tomorrow at 10am we will be having a teams meeting. I hope to hear how you are doing and what you have been up to then.

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

 Good morning everyone!
One of the tasks on the menu this week is to keep a journal. This is a diary detailing what is happening in your life just now. It is a good way to express your feelings and your thoughts. It can be important to keep a diary as when you are older you may want to look back and remember what it was like being at school online.
I have included a template in the files section of the teams page that you can use if you want or you can create your own. You can also use your own diary if you have one. The template gives you some ideas for what you might want to write down such as how you feel, what you are doing and the weather. It does not have to be all writing you can draw if you like. Here is the template:
There are also other tasks that you can do on the menu so pleased choose what you would like to do. It would be great if you could post some pictures of what you are doing to the teams page.
Thanks,
Miss Donaldson

Good morning!

I hope you had a good monday and were able to get back into the routine of working. I posted the grid of activities for this week in the previous post. All the resources and the letter from white crayon are in the week 4 folder in our files section on teams. If you can’t get access to that then the menu is on the post below this (27.4.20) please take pictures of any work that you do and post them on our teams page or in the comments of the blogs main page.

We are having a meeting today at 10am on our page and instructions on how to join the call are also posted below as a picture. I have heard from many of you on these calls but it would be super to hear from everyone.

Today I am going to focus on completing the  profile for white crayon. Remember to think very carefully about how white crayon feels and what has triggered him to feel this way. It may be useful to complete the emotion words cog and triggers cog before doing this task. You will not be able to do this task if you have not read the letter from white crayon. Here is the profile worksheet if you need it: Let me know how you get on with the tasks that you are doing today either in the comments or on our teams page.

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

All you have to do is be on our teams page at 10 and click join. The instructions are posting further down on this page and on the teams page.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is well and is managing to settle back into their school work.

It was lovely to hear from some of you yesterday in our team meeting. Remember that we are going to have another meeting on Friday at 10am you can join this meeting in the same way as the instructions below say. It would be great to see some pictures of the work that you are doing at home so please feel free to post them on our teams wall.

In this week pack I suggested creating your own comic book about the crayons. It could be about all the crayons who we have had letters from this week, just one crayon or maybe about what you think will happen next. I have included a template if you need it the week 3 pack in the files section on our teams page. If you do not have teams here is the example:

I made an example comic so that you can see what captions and speech bubbles might look like in your comic:

I look forward to seeing some examples of your work and hopefully hearing from you on Friday!

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

Hi everyone!

It is almost the Easter holidays. I hope you are all doing well and are able to now access our TEAMs page. We are looking into hosting a team call so that we can have a check in like we normally would and that way we would be able to talk to each other. This will take place tomorrow at 10.30 so hopefully hear you all there!

Today I posted about our crayons having a protest. There is a sheet in your pack that has a template for this activity:

Use the speech bubbles to think about what they actually want from Duncan (for example – I need a rest!) Use the bubbles to write in a short message for Duncan to read. Remember to colour the crayons correctly to match the message.

The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt

Please post your examples on the TEAMs page or on the main page of the blog in the comments section so I can see what you have created.

I hope you have a lovely day and hopefully will hear from you tomorrow on our team call at 10:30am.

Happy April 1st!

I hope everyone is well and keeping safe. It has been lovely to hear from some of you on our TEAMs page. I especially love the pictures of what you have been doing. Here is an example of a design for new clothes for Peach crayon:

I also have an example of a worry monster. Remember how we used worry monsters in our V.I.P room? Well if you are feeling worried about anything remember that you can always make your own one and write your worries down. You can make one using junk, lego or you can draw one. Here is the poem to say when you give it your worries:

The Worry Monster Poem
I’m your little worry monster
I am always here
When worries pop into your head
Don’t let them turn to fear

Take a piece of paper
Make sure you write your name
Explain your worry
Write it clear and plain

Put the worry into my mouth
And let me eat the fear
Put a smile upon your face
Then give a great big cheer!

(found on elsa-support.co.uk)

Here are some examples of worry monsters that have been made:

Please remember to use our TEAMs page to share pictures of what you have been doing and to tell us how you are getting on. Mrs Spence and Mrs Drummond have been sharing pictures of them with their dogs Izzy Sparkle and Baxter just like at check in:

Today why not try making a puppet of peach crayon using template in your pack and then post us the pictures of it? I am looking forward to hearing how you are getting on with your home learning.

Thanks for reading,

Miss Donaldson

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all managed to read the letter from Peach and been able to think of lots emotion words to describe how Peach is feeling.

Use you emotion words and triggers sheet to record your thought. Think of as many words as you can to describe his emotions.

It has been made clear that Peach would like some new clothes to wear since his wrapper was ruined. I would like everyone to create a design for this and when we are back at school at could have a vote on the best new outfit!

This sheet is a good template for design the new outfit (This is in your pack):

I can’t wait to see your designs. Please post any ideas onto our TEAMs page or onto the blog.

It is very important to keep your mind active and busy but it is also just as important to keep physically active so remember that Joe Wicks is doing P.E everyday live on youtube. All his videos are saved so you don’t need to do them at 9am every day. Here is the link:

I hope you are all well and that you had a good weekend. We are now on week 2 of our packs. This week we will be focusing on Peach crayon.

Pin on #LaughOutLoudBooks

Read the letter from peach and use the emotion words and triigers sheet to write down any emotion words that think Peach is feeling. Then use the triggers page to write down why you think Peach feels this way. Can you think of what Duncan can do to make Peach feel better and more valued?

Use the menu to choose your activities for the week. Then post your thoughts or examples of work on our TEAMs page or to the school blog. Here is the menu of activities for the week:

Thank you for all your hard work this past week. Please remember to check in on our TEAMs page or on the blog as I would love to hear how you are getting on!

Hi V.I.P’s!

It was has been lovely to hear from some of you on TEAMs page and even see some examples of your work. Please remember if you haven’t been on to our page please check in and let us know how you are doing.

Today we are going to make a proud cloud. We are going to use the sheet in the pack as a template.

The first thing I will fo is write my name in the middle of the cloud using rainbow writing (you can use your crayons).  Then on the rectangal shaped strips I am going to ask my family to help mw write words that best describe me, my personality aand what I am good at. I will colour each strip a different colour. Finally I will cut the cloud and the strips out and stick the strips to the bottom of the cloud. Here is an example of a finished one:

Might make a good beginning of the year activity? | Teaching ...

You could also try making one for someone else in your family to make them smile!

I hope you have a good day and I hope to hear from you on our page or in the comments on the main page of the blog.

Take care, stay safe and wash your hands!

Morning everyone,

I hope you are all well. Please remember to check in using our TEAM page. I would love to see some examples of the work you are doing.

Clever sausage has been hard at work making a rainbow for our windows. If you have also made a rainbow please take a picture to share with us.

Today we have chosen to complete another activity from the pack. We are going to do the questionnaire about what are strengths are and what we feel proud of.

Remeber to keep being kind, safe and of course wash our hands!!

V.I.P room 25.3.20

Good morning,

In case you did not collect a pack on Friday here is a screen shot of the suggested activities that you can do at home.

Remeber to complete the activities with stars and then choose at least 2 others to do this week.

Also, you may have noticed lots of pictures and paintings of rainbows in windows around your street. This is to spread joy and happiness to those who see it. Maybe you could create your own rainbow picture and put it in one of your windows where people can see it. This will help brighten up someones day and fill their bucket. Remember to take pictures and post them on our TEAMs page or post them in the comments on the pupil learning page. If you are out walking try to find spot any rainbows in windows.

Hi all,

I hope you are keeping safe and remembering to wash your hands.

Today I am going to write my letter to Beige crayon as though I am Duncan.

Try to think about ways to show Beige that you appreciate him as a crayon. I am going to use the template below:

Please remember to check in using the V.I.P teams page. Post how you are feeling and what you have been up to if you are able to get online.

V.I.P room week beginning the 23.3.20

Welcome back to our blog page!

It is a very strange week with us not being at school but remember to be checking your teams or using your packs at home to stay busy.

You should have your week 1 pack for this week with a letter from Beige crayon! Read it carefully so that you can pick out the emotion words (how he is feeling) and the triggers (why he is feeling that way).

The activities in your pack are all about this letter. Beige writes about feeling proud so try to think about the things that you are proud of.

Remember while you are at home to be listening carefully to your instructions and wash your hands!

take care,

The V.I.P room!

VIP room week beginning 9.3.20

This week we have started to learn about the book ‘The day crayons quit’.

Image result for the day the crayons quit

We found our first letter from red crayon to Duncan and have used what we have been learning about our triggers and emotions to find out how red is feeling.

We began by writing the emotions words that we thought red was feeling and identifying the triggers that made him feel this way. We then write post cards from Duncan to red crayon explaining what he would do to make him feel better and created our own red crayons. We tried to find alternate colours to use instead of always using red. Here are some examples of the work we have been doing This is Red crayon going to Disneyland to have a much deserved holiday.

Someone else decided that Red would like a holiday relaxing on a sunny beach so that he can rest after all the work he has been doing! We have had some lovely ideas to make sure that Red Crayon knows he is appreciated and listened to. However, we think we will get another letter next week from a different crayon!

VIP room week beginning 2.3.20

This week we have been learning about our emotions and what triggers us to feel them. We have been using the story ‘There’s no room for baby roo’ and ‘The three Billy’s goats gruff’ to explore different emotions and why baby roo felt them. We also used the cogs in emotion works to think about what triggered the emotions, emotion words, body sensations, behaviours and strategies that would help baby roo. Here are examples of what we did:

We also used the puppets and scenery to act out the stories we have been learning about for World Book day. Miss Pringle came and watched some of the children act these out.

Thank you for reading the V.I.P page.

Thanks,

Miss Donaldson

VIP room week beginning 24.2.20

This week we have been continuing to talk about good ways to fill buckets and the types of choices we make each day. We have also been thinking about what we are good at and what makes us feel proud as that helps our buckets to feel full. The upper group has been making proud clouds.

We have also been revisiting our worry monsters to see if they have eaten our worries and have added any in if we feel we have needed too. The worry monsters will stay here in case we ever have any worries that we want them to eat. Here is the poem that we say whenever we need to use the monsters:

The Worry Monster Poem
I’m your little worry monster
I am always here
When worries pop into your head
Don’t let them turn to fear

Take a piece of paper
Make sure you write your name
Explain your worry
Write it clear and plain

Put the worry into my mouth
And let me eat the fear
Put a smile upon your face
Then give a great big cheer!

VIP room week beginning 17.2.20

Welcome back after the February break!

This week we have only had 2 sessions for each group. We have started to learn about being good bucket fillers! The children had great ideas of how to be good bucket fillers! Hopefully they can explain this to you  but if not here is a brief explanation:

Be a Bucket Filler

Each one of us has an ‘invisible bucket’ that holds your good thoughts and feelings. When you do something kind, you fill someone’s bucket; when you do something mean, you dip into someone’s bucket and remove some good thoughts and feelings.

All day long we can choose if we fill a person’s bucket or if we will dip into it. The group has been making their own buckets so that this term we can leave each other compliments or positive messages to each other.

Thank you for reading,

Miss Donaldson

Welcome to the VIP room blog page! Week beginning 3.2.20

Image result for happy birthday sign

On Wednesday it was the V.I.P groups 2nd birthday. The children all invited a friend to come and have snack with us and play some games. Miss Millar and Mr Shanks also came and helped us celebrate by playing charades!

The upper group this week were continuing to develop their awareness of the community by walking to Morrisons, choosing the snack and buying the food for the week.

We have also been reading the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff and discussing the characters in the story. We have been focusing on their emotions, triggers, behaviours and strategies they can use.

Next week is parent consultations, I will be available in the V.I.P room if you wish to drop in and speak to me about your child.

Thank you for reading our page,
