Primary 2 – 9/9/19

Hello Everyone

Last week was a very busy week in Primary 2 as our topic got off to an exciting start when the classrooms were changed to reflect Life in the Past! The children were shocked to learn about the belt and how differently they were expected to learn – we are sure you have heard all about it!! There were a lot of relieved faces when it was all back to ‘normal’ on Wednesday morning!! This week we continue to learn about Life in the Past with a focus on houses and household appliances.

In Writing, we will be preparing letters to send to residents at Pentland View, a local retirement housing development, to ask questions about their experience of life in the past and their memories.

In Maths and Numeracy this week we will be continuing our focus on 3D objects including pentagons, hexagons and octagons along with work on numbers to 100.

A few reminders:

-please could all personal items be labelled – we have already had some lost property items.

-please could children bring named water bottles

-indoor gym – Tuesday, outdoor gym – Thursday

-homework – issued Tuesday to be returned Monday (issued every 2 weeks) – please ensure book bags are brought every day as children need these to complete in-class activities.

We would also like to remind everyone that the children have a holiday next Monday and Tuesday (16th and 17th September) and we look forward to seeing them when they return on Wednesday 18th September.

Thank you for your continuing support,

Mrs Oliver, Miss Pringle, Miss Rafferty.
