Primary 7

We know have an outstanding display in Primary Seven depicting a beautiful Japanese sunrise behind Mount Fuji. Everyone has been involved with the creation of the display which includes; figures in traditional dress, Japanese temples, carp swimming down a Japanese river all in the shadow of a pretty cherry blossom tree. We are delighted with the overall effect, well done Primary Seven. All the pupils have written letters of thanks to our Japanese visitors. We are pleased to hear that many pupils have started their large homework piece. For those who haven’t started yet, perhaps our lesson on Tsunamis will inspire you.

We are continuing to study Time in maths lessons, please test your child at home to make sure they can do a speedy conversion from the 12 to the 24 hour clock. Within numeracy we are continuing with a variety of problem solving activities using a combination of subtraction, addition, multiplication and division.

Our novel Wonder is still managing to enthral us. We are now on the section of the novel which is told through the voice of the August’s friend Summer. Her section begins with the words of the song Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. We had a thoughtful discussion in class about the lyrics; they certainly gave us a lot to think about.
