P6/7 Music

Here are some compositions by P6/7 that were inspired by the piece Mars from The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst.  Like Holst’s piece the pupils had to try an include an ostinato, a beginning and an ending.  We listened back to all the pieces and assessed them using this criteria and how much we liked the piece overall.  The winning pieces were by Jacob, Leighton, Aida, Lexi and Ellie – well done you five!

Breaktime Sports!

Last term we had a successful football tournament run in the Secondary Department at Sandwick JHS. After a tough competition the winners were Inter Milan!

The winning team then got to take on the Staff Team. After an initial lead from the pupils, the staff pulled it back to take the victory 8 – 4.
Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Mr Thomson for organising!

Dodgeball Competition

Over the last 2 terms, Mr Kerr in PE has been running a dodgeball competition with pupils on a Friday Lunchtime. This concluded last week with the winning S3 team taking on the staff team. The staff hold their victory over the pupils with another winning game.

Well done to all who took part and thank you Mr Kerr for organising.

ASN Logo

Some secondary students who access our ASN Spaces were tasked with creating a Logo to represent the ASN at Sandwick JHS in the form of a stain glass window. With help from the Learning Support team they designed it, planned it and put it togehter.

Well done to everyone involved!
