🚌 FREE BUS TRAVEL FOR THOSE UNDER 22 🚌
Children and young people in Shetland can now apply for cards to access Free Bus Travel from 31 January 2022
You can apply for a new National Entitlement Card or renew your card here: https://www.shetland.gov.uk/youth-services
This is available to all those 5 – 22 years. For those 16 and under, the applications must be completed by a patent / guardian.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH LUNCHTIME DROP-IN

 

Duke of Edinburgh drop in sessions will be held on Wednesday lunchtimes in the youth work room.

Come along if you are looking for guidance, help and support in completing your award! If you cant make this time, dont worry! I am in school everyday and my door is always open to support you complete your award!

PUPIL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

In term one, secondary students were given the opportunity to stand for Pupil Council. Pupils were tasked with running a campaign and gaining the support of their fellow students to vote for them. On election day, pupils had to make a small speech to their classmates on why they would make a good representative. Pupils then voted for their preferred candidate.

The secondary pupil council for 2021/22 are:

  • S1 – Ollie Jamieson, Holly Gray and Thomas Moore
  • S2 – Chloe Adamson and Elsie Crawford
  • S3 – Cody Mckay and Christie Moncrieff
  • S4 – Maya Clarke, Michael Harris and Bertie Summers

Pupils have now started working towards their YouthLink Scotland Participative Democracy Certificate with the Schools Youth Worker.

YOUNG SCOT NATIONAL ENTITLEMENT CARD

The Young Scot National Entitlement Card is available free of charge to everyone aged 11-25 living in Scotland. Use it for money off the things you love, exclusive rewards, proof of age and much more. Young people will also recieve vouchers for two return trips to the scottish mainland with Northlink Ferries.
