Welcome to Chemistry
Chemistry is the study of the composition of matter, it’s properties and the processes by which materials of the earth may be changed into different forms, either naturally or by scientists to bring about changes in our world.
An understanding of atomic structure and the nature of chemical reactions underpins the study of chemistry, and this is tackled in third year, allowing pupils in the fourth year to apply that understanding to the topics of Fuels, Metals, Plastics, and Radioactivity.
