Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood

For each year of the Broad General Education (S1-S3) we will spend around 15 periods of Personal, Social and Health Education time discussing  relationships, sexual health and parenthood (RSHP) . This is required by the Scottish Government.

We will be doing this using the new national resource for relationships, sexual health and parenthood (RSHP) education for children and young people. The resource can be used in early learning settings, schools, colleges and community-based learning. It is organised to sit within Curriculum for Excellence.

Please find below a link to the resource. For S1 to S3 we will focus on Third and Fourth Level content:

Third + Fourth Level

Please find below an information guide for parents explaining the learning that will take place using the RSHP resource:

Below are links to three videos relating to the RSHP resource. The privacy settings on the videos mean that we cannot publish them here but you can search for them yourself on the vimeo website placing https:// before each of the links below.

Why does RSHP matter?

Is the new teaching resource age and stage appropriate?

What do children and young people want from their RSHP education?

Below is an information guide about how you can support your child further with these topics at home should you wish to do so:
