We wish you a Merry Christmas andΒ a Happy New Year!
We had a very important guest in our class today – Santa !
while Santa spent some time with us Mr Harkness had the job of feeding the reindeer their carrots. They were parked on the roof and they were very well behaved. Rudolph was being a bit mischievous but, once he had had his carrots he was quite happy.
We all had a turn at ripping the paper off of the parcels and we were very Eco friendly when we put the wrappings in the recycling bin.
In the afternoon after we had completed all of our jobs we had a great time playing with our new games.
Thank you, Santa!
December is going by so fast, but what fun we have been having.
The children decided upon some acts of kindness they would like to undertake for their advent countdown to Christmas. They have been incredibly thoughtful and have enjoyed bringing a smile to others.
We have undertaken a litter pick, gifted a tree decoration to each class, gifted flowers, made cards for our community, told jokes, given compliments and much more. The energy, positivity and gratitude the class have shown has been amazing.
They have created a gratitude tree on our window with baubles identifying what they are grateful for and another window display of gifts we give that canβt be bought from the shop e.g. friendship and working together.
We really enjoyed our Christmas party and our gift from the parent council.
We have continued to recap our learning through Christmas themed activities, crafts and Christmas mysteries we had to solve with clues.
We look forward to what next week shall bring.
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend.
P2/3 and P3 Christingles Christmas cards.
Β Working hard on our letters for Riverside House. We hope the residents enjoy our cards as much as we enjoyed making them.
What is your wish for Christmas?
In our party clothes.
On the 2nd day of Christmas we drew these amazing baubles on our iPads. We are enjoying the Inspire Learning Christmas activities.
We had fun recycling sweetie wrappers to make these Christmas cards. We are thinking more about how we can be Eco friendly.
We have enjoyed listening to Christmas music while we have been doing our Christmas crafts. This has actually helped us to feel quite calm and relaxed.
We have worked very hard on 2D shape in Maths too. It has been fun learning about the shapes then playing with them. we have also done some addition and subtraction to make Christmas tile mosaics. We turned these into jigsaws that we can use for Mental Agility games.
P2 had a fantastic party !
It was so much fun partying with our whole year group.
We loved dancing the Military two step, we played snowmen statues and we had fun finding a partner in the snowball game.
Thank you to the Parent Council for our party bags and food. This made our party much more special.
A big thank you to all of the adults who helped out at our party.
It was lovely to see everyone in their party clothes.
A real highlight in P2 this week was using the iPads for the first time. We watched a short video of a story about a little girl and her snowman friend and then we learned how to use the Sketches School App to build a snowman picture. Our first iPad session was very successful with only a few hiccups which we were able to sort very quickly. We are all very proud of our snowmen.
Another highlight has been making our props for the virtual Christmas Nativity concert and learning our song. We have done so well with this. We like singing along without the words now.
We are really looking forward to singing our song on the stage next week.
We have been continuing to explore non-fiction books in class and although the text can be quite challenging we are doing very well and managing to read most of the book fluently.
We all enjoy discussing the photographs and text with our learning partners.
As we move into December we have been finding out about Advent and why we have advent calendars. It has been funΒ searching around the classroom for our giftΒ and task if it is our name that is chosen.
