P7 Kilbowie Challenges

P7 should have been off to Kilbowie this morning, but unfortunately that cannot happen. I have created a challenge booklet for the P7’s, which should bring elements of Kilbowie to them and it will provide fun challenges to keep them entertained and active. Each day has 3 daily challenges and an evening activity.  We would love to see you all getting involved. You can post your videos and photos in Teams or in the Kilbowie PowerPoint in Sharepoint.

We are raising money for St Andrew’s Hospice as part of our challenge week. If you can make a small donation after each challenge, it would be greatly appreciated! You can do this by texting SAH followed by your donation amount, to 70085.

Please click the link below to access the booklet and the video links. Have fun!

Coatbridge High School Transition Timetable

Please see the attached Transition Timetable for Coatbridge High School.  This is in place for next week’s virtual transition sessions with P7.

The timetable has codes in each section that the pupils will have to type in to join the team. They access TEAMS as normal, click on the teams icon on the left and then in the top right hand corner there is a section that says Join team with a code- they then type in the code provided by the high school for each subject.

Transition Information for St Ambrose High School

Please see below a copy of an email sent from Mrs Douglas, HT of St Ambrose High School regarding transition visits for next week.

Mr McMullen has already been in touch to offer pupils requiring enhanced transition the opportunity to visit the school next Tuesday 16th. We would like to extend that invitation to all pupils on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th June but we would really like to stress that the vast majority of pupils have
1. Already visited the school in November and had a tour of the school and
2. Taken part in the virtual transition programme online. Parents therefore may feel that, given the nature of this visit (short, sweet and restricted to two departments), their son/daughter may not require it.

If parents do deem it necessary to visit and feel that their son/daughter would benefit, only one pupil and one parent/carer should attend in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Tours will consist of a short tour of two departments and a brief question and answer session.

Any parent who would like to take advantage of this opportunity should email the following address and they will be given an appointment time. Times given cannot be changed.

Transition Information- P7 to S1

Dear Parent/Carer,

We know that this is an unsettling time for everyone at the minute and we know that parents/carers will have many questions they may have regarding the area of transition.  It is our hope to outline below the current information that we have to alleviate any worries and to hopefully answer any questions that are important to you.

P7 to S1 Transition Plans for Coatbridge High School

As you will be aware, NLC provided parents and carers with a schools update.  Outlined in this information were the hopes that transition activities could be provided for those pupils who were entering S1, whether that would be virtually or in the school building.  As a school, CBH have already started the virtual transition process with a virtual tour of our school, as well as an introduction to the departments and some members of their staff.  All of this information can be found in the transition tab above.

Coatbridge High School have decided to offer Virtual Activities for P7 pupils rather than have in school visits. This will mainly be Live Lessons but may also include pre-recorded videos and other activities staff can create. Mr Scott is putting a timetable together so it’s clear for parents what their children will be doing.

Coatbridge High School are also finalising a letter for all parents who have children attending the school in August.  When they send it to us, we will forward it on to you.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter,

Mrs Paterson, Principal Teacher

Transition Information- Nursery to P1

Dear Parent/Carer,

We know that this is an unsettling time for everyone at the minute and we know that parents/carers will have many questions they may have regarding the area of transition.  It is our hope to outline below the current information that we have to alleviate any worries and to hopefully answer any questions that are important to you.

Nursery to P1 Transition Plans for Langloan Primary School

As you will be aware, NLC provided parents and carers with a schools update.  Outlined in this information were the hopes that transition activities could be provided for those pupils who were entering P1, whether that would be virtually or in the school building.  As a school we have already started the virtual transition process with online presentations and a virtual tour of our school, as well as suggested activities to work on with your children before they start school.

We have also decided that our new P1 pupils will be invited into the school building accompanied by one adult during the week beginning 15th June. In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines and for the health & safety of all involved, this will be organised in small groups and will be allocated in time slots.  It will be a short visit consisting of a tour inside parts of our building, an introduction to some staff members and supplying you with a copy of our school handbook.

We will contact you either by telephone or email to make arrangements for this visit.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation with this matter,

Mrs Paterson, Principal Teacher
