Well done to our S3 DYW Youth Ambassadors who represented our school at the DYW Glasgow coordinators meeting today at Glasgow Caledonian University. They gave their opinions on DYW in our schools and enjoyed a tour of the campus.

A huge thank you to Polic Scotland as part of Baketball Scotland’s Social Impact Programme for working with some of our young people today and teaching them about the impact of knife crime.

A massive thanks to DYW Glasgow and Urban Union for hosting some of our S3 students this week. They visited City of Glasgow College and learned about the built environment, careers in construction and the changes in technology, and were commended on their behaviour and for asking lots of very good questions, well done boys!

Kayden and Zac raised money through an enterprise activity in SFL during Easter last year for a Chairty of their choice and they choose Maggie’s charity which offers cancer support to people going through treatment and bereavement. They raised £213 altogether and yesterday we travelled to Maggie’s Lanarkshire to present them with the money. The organiser made comment on how polite and mature they were and the boys were also extremely respectful when they were there

Due to announced industrial action, the school reopens tomorrow following the September weekend holiday for all pupils in S4, S5, and S6 only.

Due to the industrial action, S1, S2, and S3 pupils should not attend.

Industrial action is scheduled for Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th, and Thursday 28th September 2023.

Glasgow City Council will reassess the situation on Tuesday 26th September and issue an update regarding the arrangements for Wednesday and Thursday. This will be posted here: https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=30388
