INTRODUCTION 

In this subject you will develop skills so that you can contribute effectively in the workplace which will also enable you to understand the main laws that affect employees. You will develop an understanding of good customer care in an organisation. You will develop excellent IT Skills and you will develop your organisational skills to plan and organise events.

Curriculum

In this subject you will have the opportunity to learn about: IT Solutions for Administrators pupils will learn how to use word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Communication in Administration pupils will learn how to use the intranet and internet to find out information needed in business organisations. How to use desktop publishing, multi-media and email. Administrative Practices pupils will learn about Customer Care, Health & Safety and how to plan and organise small scale events in businesses. Administration is a growing sector which spans the whole economy and opens doors to a wide range of employment opportunities.

Learning Experiences

Most of the time pupils will be hands on at the computer using IT software applications. Administration and IT is a very skills based subject. Pupils will learn through Active learning and they will also do independent research and learning which will be used to allow the pupil to progress at their own pace, practical tasks, group work, presentations to the class.

Administration & IT gives students core lifelong learning IT Skills and Entrepreneurial Skills, Problem Solving, Literacy, Numeracy, Employability, Enterprise, Thinking Skills, Communication Skills.
