Talking to Children and Young People about Coronavirus

What Can I Say?

Dawn Huebner, author of “Something Bad Happened: A Kid’s Guide to Coping with Events in the News”, has written a template script that caregivers can use when talking to children about Coronavirus.  This script provides conversation starters, notes and guidance to help navigate this difficult conversation.

The British Psychological Society (BPS) have written a short guide about talking to children about illness. “We’ve written this short leaflet to give health professionals, educational professionals, parents and early years providers an informed understanding of children’s understanding at different developmental stages”.
