Nurturing and Supporting Mental Wellbeing

For Children and Young People

Growing use of social media, editing apps and time spent online is starting to have an impact on people’s body image, and in turn, their mental health.  Scotland has launched various initiatives to help children and young people stay resilient when spending time online and develop a good body image.

Good Body Image – Body image is how we think and feel about our body. Good body image is accepting how our body looks and valuing what it can do, recognising that we are much more than what we look like. Having good body image does not mean loving your body all of the time. Everyone has body image and how we think and feel about our body can change.

Resources on this page will highlight different websites available to help you look after your body image.
