Beat Eating Disorders Free Online Training for Education Practitioners

Beat SPOT (Schools Professionals Online Training) is now free and live for secondary schools until January 2023

While eating disorders can affect anyone of any age, school-age children are a particularly vulnerable group, and potential factors in an eating disorder’s development, such as trouble with peers and academic pressure, can appear in the school environment. School staff are ideally placed to spot the early signs of an eating disorder.  SPOT provides key professionals to identify the earliest signs of an eating disorder and know what to do when they see them.
What does SPOT offer?
SPOT is an online learning platform available to anyone working in schools, including school nurses, providing staff with e-learning modules, resources, and spaces to talk with other school professionals. In addition, there are weekly drop-ins with clinicians, and forum spaces allowing staff to share knowledge and ask advice. SPOT offers PSHE resources and lesson plans that have been written by our clinical trainers to help school staff share positive messages around eating disorders, body image and the importance of looking after our mental health. I have attached a leaflet with more information about the training platform and a link to a demonstration video below:
